Itinerary highlights

• Sydney... you'll stay in the heart of the city by Darling Harbour. There are plenty of eateries and waterside bars to choose from. Hyde Park is five minutes' walk away, and the Opera House is 20 minutes' away by bus. 
• Brisbane... this semi-tropical city is the capital of Queensland. It boasts the best galleries, museums, and restaurants in the county. Slightly further afield, you'll find koala sanctuaries, cool rainforests, and mountainside vineyards.
• Airlie Beach... is the gateway to some of the best beaches in Australia. Whitehaven Beach has over four miles of sugary white sand. The Whitsunday Islands are perfect for optional island-hopping excursions.
• Yorkey's Knob... here's the jumping-off point for optional shore excursions to the inimitable Great Barrier Reef. Grab your gear and snorkel and swim in the technicolour reefs.
• Port Douglas... is a town in tropical Queensland. It's another gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. It's also home to the idyllic Four Mile Beach.
