Itinerary
Your tropical winter sail starts with a 5-star stay in central Bangkok. You'll get three nights to explore the Thai capital. Visit the opulent Grand Palace and the Wat Pho temple, home to a five-tone golden Buddha statue. Then, sample delicacies from local vendors. As Lonely Planet confirms, "food alone is a worthy reason to visit Thailand".

Next, embark the Norwegian Sun for a 11-night voyage, calling at:

  • Laem Chabang… is the seaport of the Thai capital. Head downtown to the open-air markets and sample traditional dishes like Pad Thai and Som Tam. Soak up the sun at Sai Kaew Beach. Then, take a boat trip out to Koh Si Chang Island for some snorkelling. Be sure to visit Buddha Mountain for some breathtaking views.
  • Ko Samui… make port at this palm-covered island in the Gulf of Siam, and one of Thailand's most beautiful islands. Dip your toes in clear waters, or join a casual trek to waterfalls in the lush forest.
  • Ho Chi Minh City… drop anchor at nearby Phu My, then explore the country's largest city, formerly known as Saigon. You can explore bustling markets and admire French colonial architecture. Alternatively, opt for a day trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels or the Mekong Delta.
  • Bintan Island... lush tropical greenery line white-sand beaches on this speck of land in Indonesia. You could go snorkelling, play a round of golf, or visit quaint fishing villages.
  • Port Klang… take the Port Klang Heritage Walk to iconic landmarks such as the Royal Gallery and the Sri Sunderaraja Perumal Temple. Both known for their stunning architecture. Nature lovers can explore Pulau Indah Island for scenic views and mangrove forests. The town is famous for its seafood. Be sure to try the grilled fish before your depart. Street food stalls will be serving the popular Bak kut teh (pork bone) soup.
  • Penang… a place that "delivers old-world Asia in spades", says Lonely Planet. See George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, bursting with impressive British colonial buildings. Take in panoramic views from Penang Hill and try the delicious Penang Laksa (fish-based noodle soup).
  • Langkawi… an island in the Andaman Sea. It is blessed with mangrove swamps, ancient rainforests and limestone caves. There's also a vast array of fascinating wildlife that thrives here. The island is fringed with powder-white sand and swaying coconut trees. Scuba diving here is excellent.
  • Phuket… beaches are "strikingly handsome" here, according to Rough Guides. Offshore snorkelling along the west coast is "exceptional". You'll also find pretty waterfalls, lush forests and elephant trekking within a stone's throw.

You will disembark at the seaport of Singapore, and conclude you adventure with a two night deluxe city stay in one of Asia's top destinations. Visit Buddhist temples, Michelin-starred street food stalls, and Arab bazaars. Be sure also to visit The Long Bar at the Raffles Hotel for a cocktail or two.

Then, transfer to the airport and catch your overnight flight home.
