Itinerary
Begin the holiday with two nights in Mestre, just across the lagoon from the island of Venice. There are regular shuttles across the water, so you can be there in about 10 minutes. See the incredible Doge's Palace, or take a traditional gondola ride through the maze of emerald canals.
You'll then transfer to the cruise terminal, about a 20-minute drive from the hotel, to board Azamara Onward. Your 9-night cruise will call at:
- Opatija, Croatia... this 19th-century resort town was favoured by Habsburg royalty. Explore its elegant villas and imperial history.
- Zadar, Croatia... lose yourself in the labyrinth of narrow streets in the Old Town. On the water's edge, you'll find the Sea Organ. This public art installation fuses architecture, nature, and music.
- Split, Croatia... this charming city along Croatia's Dalmatian Coast has a walled UNESCO-listed historic centre, as well as a palm-dotted seafront promenade.
- Korcula, Croatia... a jumble of red rooftops will emerge over the horizon as you approach Korčula. The island is home to Mljet National Park, said to be the paradise that captivated Odysseus for seven years.
- Dubrovnik, Croatia... "Game of Thrones" fans will recognise the Old Town as King's Landing. Walk the Medieval city walls, and take in spectacular views over the sea.
- Kotor, Montenegro... boasts a dramatic location surrounded by mountains. If you're feeling energetic, climb the 1350 steps to the clifftop castle.
- Chania, Greece... the island of Crete combines natural beauty with historic sites like the the Bronze Age Palace of Knossos, the mythical home of King Minos and the Minotaur.
Disembark in Piraeus, and transfer to the airport in Athens for your flight home.
