  • La Coruña... along its lively streets, fish restaurants and tapas bars jostle for attention along Galician shorelines. From the nearby sculpture park, you can view the surrounding coastline and the Tower of Hercules, a lighthouse built by Romans.
  • Cádiz... wander among swaying palms, golden domes, and whitewashed cathedrals in this ancient Andalusian city. This is also the gateway port for travel to Seville, which sits just over an hour's drive inland, so why not take on an optional excursion (chargeable) to admire an intoxicating mix of Baroque churches, windinglanes, and resplendent palaces.
  • Malaga… this vibrant gem on the Costa del Sol features endless art galleries, street eateries and late-night bars. Visit Castillo de Gibralfaro for a scenic walk and to get a bird's eye view of the city, and to admire the historical monuments, La Alcazaba and the Roman Theatre.
  • Alicante... described by Lonely Planet as "a dynamic, attractive Spanish city" with an "exciting" food scene, this stop has much to offer, including its castle with sweeping views over the marina, pretty Old Quarter, and lengthy waterfront.
  • Palma de Mallorca... this sunny Balearic capital is crowned by a golden cathedral and boasts at least eight hours of sunshine even in the colder months.
  • Barcelona…  admire the colourful mosaics in Park Güell, stop off for some delicious tapas, and visit the famous Sagrada Família.
  • Valencia… visiting the old town, you'll find many pavement cafés, the bustling Plaza de la Reina, where you can people watch, and Valencia Cathedral, where the original Holy Grail is believed to be kept, as well as the Silk Exchange from the 15th century.
  • Lisbon… savour some pastéis de natas as you wander through narrow cobbled streets in the Alfama district, or head up to São Jorge Castle and enjoy stunning views over the Portuguese capital.
