You will sail from and return to Southampton, calling at:

  • Gijón… this engaging city in verdant Asturias province welcomes visitors with a friendly atmosphere. Home to historic monuments dating back to Roman times, it is also the self-proclaimed capital of cider where you can quench your thirst at one of the cheerful 'sidrerias' (ciderhouses)
  • La Coruña… a buzzing port along the Galician coast in Northern Spain is a cultural hub with a pretty seafront promenade and a charming old town, within easy reach of Santiago de Compostela, the final stop on the epic Camino pilgrimage trail.
  • Santander… Cantabria's characterful capital is a city of grand Belle Époque buildings, elegant seaside promenades along sensational beaches, and tapas bars bursting with the region's exquisite flavours.
  • Cherbourg… head to the old town for traditional crêperies and regional cuisine, or visit La Cité de la Mer aquarium. You can also tour nearby D-Day Landing Beaches, or venture further afield to Mont St-Michel: the stout ramparts and slender spires of this Medieval castle on a rocky islet make up one of France' s most iconic images.

In between ports you'll spend two full days at sea, when you can take advantage of your ship's facilities.

About the ship
According to Cruise Critic, Britannia is "all about understated luxury", with a "real emphasis on quality food, as well as excellent nightlife". Public spaces are decorated with marble, glass, and rich textures of wood, giving the ship the feel of a high-end hotel at sea.

Take a cooling dip at one of the two main pools, or relax on a daybed or cabana at the adults-only Retreat pool. The latter is adjacent to the serene Oasis Spa, which has a hydrotherapy suite, several saunas, steam grottos, tropical showers, and treatment rooms for massages (reservation required; a fee is applicable).

There are over 20 restaurants and bars to choose from. Your full-board package covers daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner at four restaurants, and snacks at a pizzeria and an ice cream parlour. For an extra charge you can enjoy speciality dining— modern British, Indian, and lavish afternoon tea amongst others—or attend cooking classes.

Work out in the gym, join yoga or Pilates classes, or get comfortable with a book in the library. Quizzes, trivia, and even line dancing are on offer during the day. Vivid spectacles are on show at the Headliners Theatre in the evenings, while cabaret, magicians, live music or DJs entertain at various venues. You can try your luck at the casino, or dance the night away at the disco.

  • Sail in a Balcony Cabin from £691 per person
