Itinerary
Spend your first night at a recently renovated hotel in Miami. You'll stay conveniently close to the airport after your long flight. You could relax at the pool or grab food and drinks from the restaurant.
Next day, a transfer will take you to Fort Lauderdale port. Embark on a tropical island-hopping cruise, calling at:
- Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos… this capital is one of the first places explored by Columbus when he reached the New World. Discover its storied history, laze on the beach, or go snorkelling in the colourful coral reefs.
- Amber Cove, Dominican Republic… is named for the precious gem sometimes found washed up on the sands. Its lush landscapes were used as the tropical backdrop to the first Jurassic Park film.
- Kralendijk, Bonaire… this Dutch island in the south Caribbean Sea, known for its many dive sites accessible from the shore, its pristine beaches, and scenic hiking trails.
- Willemstad, Curaçao… take in the unique mixture of French and Dutch architecture. Curaçao was colonised by the Dutch in the 1600s, and remains part of the Netherlands to this day.
- Oranjestad, Aruba… you could ride a double-decker trolley along the colourful waterfront. Or, sample salt cod and sip craft bourbon cocktails by the beach.
- Basseterre, St Kitts… the quaint capital is the gateway to laid-back beaches. Mellow villages and former plantation houses await in the mountainous interior.
- St Thomas, US Virgin Islands… is famous for its crystal-clear waters. Take a cable car up to Skyline Drive for sweeping views of the harbour.
Disembark in San Juan, Puerto Rico's vibrant capital. Spend four nights at a deluxe beach resort. You could relax under swaying palms at three pools or the private stretch of sand. There's a plush spa, and a wide choice or restaurants and bars.
You'll also get a day tour to the lush island interior. Visit the El Yunque National Forest, and hike approximately 30 minutes to a waterfall with natural slides. The walk takes place on dirt paths with some river wading. At the end of your holiday you'll be transferred to the airport for your UK-bound flight.
Ship details
Grand Princess is a fun ship that holds around 2600 passengers at full capacity. It has an almost 2-to-1 passenger-to-crew ratio for a relaxed holiday at sea.
Find your favourite spot on the pool deck complete with Jacuzzis. There's an adults-only spa with a wide variety of massage and beauty treatments for a fee. Active guests can practice their skills on the small putting green, play basketball, or attend a history and art lecture.
According to Cruise Critic, the quality of food is high, and the Italian specialities at the pizzeria are "out-of-this-world delicious". With three main dining rooms (included) and two speciality venues to choose from, everyone will find a suitable option.
Evenings are all about entertainment, whereby you can catch a spectacular show at the theatre, while away time in the piano bar, try your luck at the casino, or show off your moves on the nightclub's dancefloor.
