Following two nights in Los Angeles, you’ll embark on a 15-night cruise to the Hawaiian islands aboard Emerald Princess. You’ll spend four days at sea before making port at Honolulu, the Polynesian capital – "ocean breezes rustle palm trees along the harborfront", says Lonely Planet, "while in the distant, mist-shrouded Ko'olau Range, forested hiking trails offer postcard city views".
Next, you'll call at Kauai, often considered the most beautiful of all Hawaii's islands. The pace of life slows here -- no building can be taller than a coconut tree by law, and you'll enjoy floating lazily down its sacred rivers, wandering its secluded beaches and swimming in hidden coves.
You’ll then make port at Lahaina, on the shores of Maui island. Venture into the interior for canopied jungles, bamboo forests and flowing lava, or snorkel a kaleidoscope of vividly coloured barrier reefs. From November to March, it's possible to see migrating humpback whales from the island's shores.
The last port of call in Hawaii is Hilo, home to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Rainbow Falls, the most famous waterfall on the Big Island. Once thought to be the dwelling of Hina, the ancient Hawaiian moon goddess, the falls draw crowds today for the many rainbows that appear in the surrounding mists.
Finally, you’ll embark on your journey back to the mainland, stopping to make port in Ensenada, Mexico, before returning to the mainland of the US. On arrival, you’ll fly to Vegas for three nights in an iconic hotel on The Strip, before catching your return flight home.
Stay in an Oceanview Cabin from an extra £129 per person.
