New York is a truly global city that wears many crowns — according to Lonely Planet, it's a "trendsetter", a "dining and shopping capital", and an "architectural darling". You'll start your holiday with three nights' deluxe stay in an enviable Manhattan location, with the city buzz right on your doorstep.
Pose for a holiday photo on Times Square, take a stroll through Central Park, or admire the invaluable collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, all within walking distance from your hotel. As an added benefit you'll also get a skip-the-line admission to the One World Observatory, one of the best vantage points in town to take in awe-inspiring views over the iconic skyscrapers.
On day four, you'll embark on a week-long transatlantic cruise, during which you can take advantage of your ship's facilities.
About the ship
Queen Mary 2 is the flagship vessel of luxury British cruise line Cunard. The ship is renowned for its sense of occasion — think sweeping staircases, white-gloved bellmen, and the chance to dress to the nines for dinner.
Facilities include eight bars and seven restaurants (meals are included, but supplements apply for à la carte dining), and the impressive Queens Room hosts Cunard's signature afternoon tea.
Whether you're a beginner or just keen to perfect your moves, you can join dance classes conducted by experienced instructors. Learn about the solar system from a comfortable seat at the largest planetarium at sea – with the dome retracted, the venue hosts 3D cinema screenings and classical concerts.
Soak up the sun on a padded lounger around one of the four pools with Jacuzzis, one of which is reserved for adults only. You can play mini golf, paddle tennis, table tennis, or book a massage or beauty treatment at the plush spa (for an extra charge).
Go for a lap along the jogging track, or join a yoga or Pilates class (fees apply) at the gym. Young passengers are welcome at the supervised Kids' Zone with age-appropriate entertainment and activities.
- Book a Britannia Oceanview Stateroom and get an upgrade to a Britannia Balcony Stateroom from £1699 per person
