About The Ritz

The Ritz experience is like no other. This magnificent building is Grade II*-listed and opened its doors to the public in May, 1906. It was then, and still is, considered to be among the best hotels in the world. This 5-star hotel was the creation of hotelier César Ritz, who wanted it to become an unrivalled destination for people in search of luxury and opulence. It’s fair to say he succeeded. Guests of both the hotel and restaurant still experience what César Ritz set out to achieve over a century ago, and are still left awestruck by this stunning building's grand and luxurious interiors. Not only was The Ritz Restaurant awarded a Michelin star back in 2016, it also holds three AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.

"There is nowhere grander than The Ritz," says The Michelin Guide 2020, and it's easy to see why. The wonderful dining room features lavish chandeliers, impressive Neoclassical statues and ceilings adorned with beautiful frescoes. The room is also bathed in natural light, thanks to the large floor-to-ceiling windows.

Travelling to your Ritz gift experience

The Ritz London is in the centre of the capital, making it extremely accessible. Using the public transportation system in London is the best and most convenient option to reach your luxury occasion at The Ritz.

The closest Underground station is Green Park. Pick up the Piccadilly, Victoria or Jubilee line to alight at Green Park and you'll have less than a 2-minute walk to the hotel. Alternatively, there are two other Tube stations nearby -- Piccadilly Circus and Hyde Park Corner are both less than 15 minutes away from the hotel on foot.

All of London's major airports connect to the Tube network via train or bus links, and all its terminus stations connect directly. If guests would rather not use the Tube, there are many bus routes that pass Green Park. Cabs are also a good option.

What should I wear for my Ritz dining experience?

Naturally, there are dress codes to adhere to in venues as luxurious as The Ritz. Ladies and gentlemen are not permitted to wear jeans and sportswear for either lunch or dinner in The Ritz Restaurant and Terrace. In both of these locations, it's necessary for gentlemen to wear a jacket and tie. Shorts, trainers and sportswear are also not permitted in any of the hotel or club's restaurants or bars. It's Ritz policy to ask that items which cover the face of a guest be removed while inside the hotel. Smart casual clothing should be worn in all other areas of the hotel.

Why buy a Ritz gift experience voucher?

Dining at The Ritz is truly a bucket-list experience. This stunning hotel is so magnificent, it has even welcomed royalty for many years -- the hotel owed much of its early fashionability to the future Edward VII, who regularly dined there, and Queen Elizabeth II hosted her 80th birthday there in 2006. So, purchase a Ritz dining experience voucher, enjoy the incredibly attentive service, magnificent cuisine and opulent surroundings, and follow in the footsteps of royalty.
