Dated hotel.

Room/carpet/bathroom looking rather tired. An overnight stay was fine but wouldn't want to spend a few days here. Having said that the room contained everything you would expect. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Just a shame about the decor.

Only stayed one night on travelzoo so excellent value for money. Staff are very helpful. Food is excellent. Room could do with freshening up however had everything we needed and although a bit dated the furnishings were well made and goodmquality

Although the hotel is dated and the rooms rather small the staff were great, the food was good, it was very warm, there was a bottle of Prosecco waiting on ice in our room, it was a five minute drive to the Motor museum, excellent value for the money.

We loved the location with easy access to lakeside boat to boness, Ambleside etc. Also lovely walks nearby. Room a little chilly but clean and excellent breakfast. Meal voucher was good value and food tasty and filling

We had a 2 day stay and room not cleaned between days 1 & 2. But staff very friendly. But for the money we'll worth it. 119 per night Inc 60 food credit

The staff were pleasant enough but were stretched. The experience was very good value for money - but only because it was a Travelzoo offer.

The hotel is ‘tired’ and needs a total renovation. I appreciate that it would cost a considerable amount of money but it requires dragging into the 21st century.

Our stay was excellent & we had no problems with it at all. We would love to return at some point in the future on a similar sort of deal.

The staff were all so friendly & obliging. Food was absolutely great….keep the chef.! Our bathroom was also very fresh, spotless and spacious. I think we had an upgraded room though.

We stayed for one night on the Travelzoo deal. We found all the staff friendly and efficient, the meals were good value, the hotel, although in need of some TLC, was warm and cosy throughout and well-located near the lake. Unfortunately we found a used tissue in the bed in the morning which made us wonder if the beds were changed for one-night stays.

The hotel is in a nice location and the bedrooms seem to of been renovated , the swimming pool is quite small and a very limited gym, the public areas are quite worn out and give the hotel a tired look ,

Great value short stay in a comfy room. Staff really friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent. Evening meal good homely food. Appreciated the Prosecco in the room ( tho no fridge to chill it sadly).

Scott in the bar was especially attentive and helpful. Sylvia on reception is an also an asset to the hotel.

The bar was a nice place to sit and enjoy an evening drink after a days walking

The bathroom was very dated, ie the jacuzzi didn’t work, the bath panels were gaping, the shower curtain was poorly fitted. The floor boards from the next door room creaked very badly through to our room. The bedroom was good and offered excellent tea/coffee making facilities.

Great hotel for a break, food and bar was great, followed by a great breakfast.

Nice hotel in a prime location. Meal allowance included in the deal, good choice of food and wine. Breakfast was good and included, buffet service English and pastries. We was given a family room which was very spacious.

Restaurant was nice with good food, breakfast was excellent, the bar was good with good drinks, the room was a little tired but had everything we needed, bed was large and comfortable and bathroom was ok with a good over bath shower

Breakfast was self service. We don’t mind fruit and cereals etc as self service but it would have been nice for the cooked breakfast to be made to order. Also, tea and coffee was self service. Pots brought to the table would have been better. In the bedrooms the decor and furnishings were quite tired. Think it’s ready for a refurbishment.
