Whole deal especially the value

Couple of quirks for hotel to look at. Shower in Ladies changing room in spa was stuck on very hot. Also, even though we were due to check out at 12:00, the keys stopped working at 11:00 which is a bit embarrassing when you have just come out of spa and have to go to reception in a towel to get key fixed.

Friendly, relaxed, helpful. Now changed hands to a Holiday Inn. Lots of refurbishment and it looks modern and inclusive. Great facilities in the Spa - Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and nice clear pool.

Fantastic deal with Travelzoo - been before, now taken over by Holiday Inn, newly decorated room, reception & restaurant. Very friendly staff. Evening food not so good as last time we visited, more like pub food now. Breakfast lovely, best pork sausages ever. Hope HI will offer weekend breaks too, definately return.

Only thing I was unhappy about was there were dogs staying in the hotel and this is not mentioned (that I could see) on the web site. Although they were fine I will check I have a room that has not bee allocated for people with pets next stay

The room was excellent the staff really lovely Food was fantastic breakfast was lovely and fresh and the whole restaurant was perfect. Just one little thing we were near kitchen door and it banged shut otherwise All Of us had a great stay

This is our fifth visit the hotel and we chose it on this occasion to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. There is not one particular thing I would pick out about this hotel as the whole ackage is excellent quality. Only one thing let it down was the room was in a corridor that had not undergone refurbishment. Our room was very tired but this did not affect our stay

This time the food was much better and we upgraded the room which made a lot of difference as it was beginning to get tired all the staff were really friendly this time l guess due to the takeover they've all been on a course

The tv didn't work very well but as everything in the room was new we put it down to teething troubles but we will be back

Been here a number of time cos food etc was excellent but since starting the refurbishment I personally don't like the open plan bar/restaurant service in restaurant slow food no where near as good as before .

The good value deal with B&B+D+bottle of wine - exceptional.

We hope this deal will continue when the hotel is fully refurbished.

Staff were very polite and helpful.

Didn't realise location was so close to M1 junction, once refurbished all rooms will be good, our first room was to hot and claustrophobic (not refurbed) but moved to a refurbished room which was very good.

Our room was the noisiest I’ve ever slept in some form of unit outside sounded like we had an HGV with engine running outside window all night didn’t get much sleep which was a shame as it was our wind down day

We were put in an old room, wanted us to pay to upgrade which was disappointing for regular customers!

I’m afraid to say this but if the hotel is going to charge £23 for a sirloin steak please do not serve up a piece of meat that was disgraceful. You should be sacking your butcher.

Very efficient, friendly and competent staff

Spa area very nice if you enjoy relaxing in a sauna or steam room, and a dip in the pool.

The morning breakfast was disappointing, empty dishes having to wait for them to be filled for a period of time. When you did manage to load your plate it was all cold apart from the Hash Browns and there was not many people in for breakfast. Not really impressed with there new open planned dining area, feels like a canteen now. Much preferred it as it was before. However saying all this have stayed many times before and it was very enjoyable, perhaps this was a one off.

Location value for money

Great value two night stay with two course meal and wine on first night. Room was very dated, but adequate. Bit disorganised with all the work going on, but would like to return when improvements have finished.

Pool and spa area could do with some attention, as certain parts were looking a bit tired. Got locked out of room twice as the fob wouldn’t work. Easily sorted, but a bit of a pain having to keep going back to reception.

The staff and breakfast were excellent.

The Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

1) Not being told by Travelzoo that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment. 2) Sharing the restaurant at breakfast with some of the workers engaged on the refurbishment (in their work overalls etc). 3) Describing the hotel as being on the fringe of the Peak District, whereas no mention wass made of the fact that it is adjacent to the M1 Motorway. 4) Being woken up throughout the night by partygoers. All in all, a very poor experience which reflects badly on Travelzoo.
