The complimentary tea and coffee was great but there was no water. A water pitcher with ice would have been amazing, I was pretty dehydrated from not drinking enough water.

they charged my credit card in the middle of the night instead of using the Travelzoo voucher which they had already knew of and approved. It took four phone calls at minimum just to get them to send me an email. Everything is extra, including a fridge and a microwave which I requested after countless missteps on companies part, then my reservation said those things were in the room which they weren't and I had to call twice to get those in the room, no one greeted us with days and times or location of pool and when I left no one asked me how my stay was, when I asked for a bottle of water to drink they said they had it but it cost money. They didn't tell me how much and I checked out early though approved for a $10 credit to stay later, they should have gave me the water, instead I walked away ANGRY and thirsty. When I called about a breakfast they said the cookies in the lobby and the oatmeal were breakfast. A bowl of fresh fruit and an apology are in order.

Large well appointed room with very comfortable king bed and especially supportive pillows.

Modern decor is very nice but lack of drawer space is inconvenient. Extra charge for room refrigerator or microwave is disappointing. Waived for our Travelzoo voucher, however.

Hotel was nice with good location. Pool was not working during our stay which really impacted our visit as we always spend time at the pool

Rooms were nice but noise from other rooms was very loud. Every time another door closed- our room door slammed abruptly

We had a voucher and we had an illness in our family so we had to rebook, the staff would only give us one night and were rude about doing that. We have been loyal Travelzoo customers and always have had excellent experiences with our bookings, this time was definitely very disappointing. I travel a lot and I understand it was Santa Barbra however the staff is pretty uppity for an average hotel that charges a lot for a motel like experience.

The location of this hotel was good. You could walk to most things within the downtown area. When I got the email about this "deal", I expected that the hotel was worth more than what we paid for it. We opened the door to our room and the sink for the bathroom was the first thing we saw. That was not appealing at all. If someone is sitting at the table on the uncomfortable chair, you could barely squeeze by to get to the other side of the room. It did not look recently remodeled. I realize that the hotels change their pricing based on availability, so that you can often get a great deal on a room at the last minute because there are many rooms available, but when I, by chance, was looking at the map on google maps and hovered over the hotel, the price for that night was $182, which is just $2.50 more than what we paid. It went down to $161 on Thursday night. I realize that pictures are deceiving and I will do more research before I book a hotel.
