The food and atmosphere was good.
Perhaps it was because it was the day before Valentine's day, but we felt we were really gouged. We ordered martinis with house gin, but when we received our bill, we were charged for the drink, and an additional $4 a piece for each drink. We have had drinks at the restaurant and never have had this happen. The most expensive martini on the menu was less than what we were charged. Same for the caesar salad. Cost extra for anchovies. Not acceptable.

The service, the wait time, and the food were all unsatisfactory
The service and the food were extremely disappointing. We were in the area to celebrate my husband's birthday as well as our anniversary. Our waiter only visited the table twice - once to take our order and once to bring the bill. My steak was SO undercooked it was not edible and it took over 45 minutes to get our food despite the fact it was not busy during that time. The manager was informed, but seemed to care less about our dissatisfaction. All in all, a great disappointment for what should have been a great experience.

Beautiful, rustic but elegant setting. The amuse bouche was delicious.
Service was rushed and rather unfriendly, food was not up to John Ash's usual standards. We ate on a Monday evening, so maybe it was chef's night off???

Overall, the experience was positive. The food was prepared well and was tasty. The service was fine.
Initially, our server seemed a bit standoffish. I think it is important to connect with your "host". He eventually softened his interactions and this made the experience better. Service was okay. Had ordered a second glass of wine and it took quite awhile for it to be delivered. Nice touch to serve a small taster of ceviche on a won ton soup spoon. Chile Relleno appetizer was very tasty. It was served with a bit of rice, pico de gallo, and a very generous portion of guacamole. Mixed green salad was fresh, dressing was a bit overdone and the bottom portion of the salad was drenched in salad dressing. The entrees were very flavorful. Sea Bass was well seasoned, along with a nice combination of mushrooms and Brussel sprouts. Filet, served with augratin potatoes, was cooked perfectly, tender and tasty. For dessert, the chocolate dome was very rich. The peanut butter gelato and fresh whip cream accented this very decadent dessert. The final touch were the truffles served at the end.
