We would not go back because while the food was good, it was not good enough to merit an hour's drive. Value for the money is based on coupon use.

Tapas were good, but the paella was way too salty. The cream brûlée has a weird taste.

While the TZOO voucher clearly stated "please tip on full value. 18% - 20% is customary of good service, it did not state the tip is MANDATORY AT 20%. The manager argued with us saying the CORRECT WAY to interpret the Term of the TZOO voucher is customer agrees to pay 20% service charge when they use the coupon, that's why our check comes with a MANDATORY 20% charge base of full value. Can he not even read properly? Tip is discretionary, especially when the term uses the word "customarily" and "please". It is not uncommon for me to tip over 20% at a good restaurant, but when the manager tried to "teach" me how to read the terms while he is clearly making things up, it left me with a bad taste with this restaurant.

Taberna is now my favorite restaurant in Washington, DC. The entire experience was wonderful, from the quality, taste, and presentation of the food, to the attentiveness and professionalism of the service, to the beautiful Christmas decorations that created a festive and elegant atmosphere for a special dinner. I would love to come back to Taberna as often as possible!

We'd say the incredible food and staff. An incredible dining experience!

We were unaware that the restaurant offers complimentary valet parking to those dining with them., but we'll know for next time. Also, the restaurant offers live music...a solo guitarist who was exceptional! One last item I'd like to mention, my husband went to retrieve our car from another parking garage and while I was waiting one of the employees came outside to make sure I got to the car safely. The restaurant wasn't located in an undesirable location as much as it was that many of the areas residents were celebrating Halloween on a Saturday night,

The food, the atmosphere, the service...with one exception: a bald-headed, dyspeptic, server who disappeared after we complained.

With all the attention on the new "in" restaurants in DC...it is reassuring that this iconic, old-timer is better than ever.
