The guide was terrific; the weather could not have held up better, and the horses were so awesome with newbies. Only draw back, was the weather which was causing very high surf; thus, we weren't allowed much time nor distance on the actual shoreline, which I was looking so forward to. But this was unavailable. Rain held off until we were coming in. I would do it again, in a heartbeat!

What's not to love about Ricochet Ridge Ranch? It's located in beautiful Fort Bragg - they are across the street from the MacKerricher State Marine Conservation Area, and you get to ride along the trails and coast, in the sand along the beach. Our guide Cowboy Noel was a wonderful guide. He was familiar with the area, the history of the ranch, the local plants and shared his wonderful knowledge with us. We had the best time horseback riding, we plan to go back and do the 4 hour trail ride next! I called to schedule the reservation, and they said I had to ride on a weekday, so I scheduled a Friday afternoon. When we arrived they had mistakenly put us in for Saturday. They were so nice about the mistake, we just went out and enjoyed the coastal towns and came back the next day. I got some great photos of the horses and the barn. The horses were well trained and we hopped on and trotted along.
We enjoyed Noel as out cowboy tour guide for the day.

The staff and owner were very nice and friendly. The horses were gentle and very experienced for the trail ride; the weather was perfect!!! We wish the portion of the ride on the beach was twice as long!
The informational/safety video was ancient and kept stopping. They really need to spend a few bucks for a new video and to update/upgrade their facility!!

I visited with my adult daughters - the beach for one and riding for the other. Bonus was that they both loved the riding which was my passion growing up. We will be back for a longer ride in the near future. A side note: The ranch is under new ownership. As great as my first visit was, this one was excellent. They are doing a great job!!
