We looked out and saw three whales who followed us for over an hour, or we followed them! They were going through an intense courtship and it was fascinating

All was great except for checkin. It was not clear you needed to edeem the voucher when you got there. The lady checking ticketswas very lazy about explaining that and rude when you didn't realize that requirement.

Although it was a cold and rainy day on the water, the trip was still good. The narration was very interesting and the sights good. On a sunny day, it would be wonderful to sit on the top deck and enjoy rather than trying to duck until the bar area canopy out of the wind! Still enjoyable!

Thank you for good service, informative narrations and hospitable crew!

North harbour was the more interesting. South featured mainly navy ships so if you are into that, its fine

Perfect day for a "whale watching" cruise out of the San Diego Harbor.
Captain Dale, Assistant Captain Hannah and marine biologist Danielle were fantastic. Captain Dale was amazing with pointing out so many interesting sites, various wildlife and sharing the naval history of San Diego. Hannah and Danielle were great guides as well.
During our cruise, the harbor was full of naval ships returning from their tour of duty. Naval Base San Diego is the second largest Surface Ship base of the US Navy. It was quite moving to see so many sailors waving from the decks of their ships.
Our cruise took us to a pod of over 400 common dolphins. It was truly magical to see these beautiful families playing alongside the boat. The baby dolphins were so cute swimming next to their moms. We also saw bottle nose dolphins, which put on quite a show jumping, and Pacific white sided dolphins that played in the wake.
We also saw seals and sea lions sunning and many, many birds including pelicans, cormorants, herons and egrets. Interested to watch the birds diving for fish.
COVID safety protocols were stressed. Hand sanitizer on board. Limited capacity. No inside seating available. Masks required and when passengers tried to trick the staff by pretending to sleep or eat, the captain and assistant captain informed those not following the rules that the Coast Guard would shut them down again if the protocols were not observed.
Booked with a TravelZoo voucher. Two vouchers for $42. Great cruise, but since whale are guaranteed and they were hiding on this cruise, we were given a couple of passes to return for another trip. Hope to be able to come again and would highly recommend for a really fun day at sea.

It is very hard to hear the narration on the cruise especially since it is outdoor seating only. They need to increase volume so you can hear over the engines or add speakers to more locations. Overall, great trip but would have been better to hear what they were saying.
