The A-12 (SR-71 variant) on the flight deck. Talking to the docent about our experiences as 17 year-olds in the Navy.

Admission to the Intrepid is FREE to US military veterans! Ooops! I could have got in FREE, didn't notice that until the voucher had been scanned. It was still worth the price of admission.

It was nice, but we didn't get to see the submarine as it is under renovation for a month.

Wonderful museum - the people and exhibits were great. We even got to speak with some of the original crew members of the Intrepid.

The Starfleet Experience was pretty good. There are a series of tests you can take to determine what area of Starlet you're best suited for, as well as some cool sets and exhibits (such as being transported - an onscreen effect). You get an electronic bracelet that you activate before going in at it tracks all of your results and then they email them to you. However, the email function was not working the day we attended (and since we were only in New York for that day, we could not come back if/when it was working), so that was disappointing. A couple of the hands-on stations were also not functioning.
Other Comments
I got the impression that no one on staff really cared about the malfunctions in the Starfleet experience. No special offers or discounts were offered. Being emailed the results is a really big part of the experience and to have it not working was a big disappointment. Something to offset it would've been nice.

The Star Trek Academy Experience exhibition was most enjoyable. It was a fun time for all ages with lots of interactive exhibitions. One does NOT need to be a Star Trek fan to enjoy this experience. Sending "results" via e-mail was a great idea and souvenir.
