Was pleasantly surprised with the offer from Travel Zoo to book the Catalina flyer for $49 per adult. Obtaining the Voucher was much more easy than I was expecting.

The reservation was booked on the phone. Trying to do it on line didn’t work out well for me.
Check-in was extremely easy, we were checking into bicycles also, and that went over without any problems.
I must say the area for dropping off passengers and baggage, and bicycles,Had to be done curbside but the curb is painted red. Not much real estate in that area to do much. Once we we’re boarding it was very helpful for the staff to have help my wife navigate her bicycle through the tight turns on the gang plank.
Job well done folks. Once on bored we were helped stacking our bicycles near the luggage area.
The trip to the island was comfortable and without incidents.
On the return trip just about halfway through the boat began to slow to a stop. Everyone on board where we were sitting was wondering just like us if something had broken. To our surprise, it very fortunate the captain had spotted blue whales. He announced blue whales were reaching the surface just to our right. I must say it was a wonderful site that not many people on this earth get to witness. Thank you Captain for your keen eye on details.

The credit I gave at the reservation for some reason was not processed by the credit card company, so I had to give another when we arrived for the trip. But the Catalina Flyer people sad they would cancel the first charge and then called me the next day day to tell me they had done it. Great service!

We paid 49$ *2 to get on the Catalina Flyer and had no spot to sit. We had to sit on the ground for that price which I find very bad value for our money.

Our only real dilemma was the parking around Catalina Flyer. When you are trying to get there on time, we had to drive around to find parking. Not very well marked. The ship was packed and seating was a bit difficult to get. People were friendly and the staff very kind. We were disappointed that we were unable to get a golf cart to further explore Catalina, but we had arrived after a large cruise ship arrived. But we really enjoyed walking around. However, I think you do need more than one day on Catalina. We missed a lot. After arriving, you really only have about 5 hours before you have to line up for boarding.

The ride was a bit more choppy than I expected. My friend got a bit seasick. But the crew was really great.

It was good- but having to line up hours before to be able to get a seat is a lot. They should allow selection at booking

Went to Catalina for the day, went snorkeling and mini golf. The day trip gives you about 6 hours on the island.
