They charged the same price for papaya salad without prawns as they would for one with prawns. So the dish is inferior due to their shortage but the price is the same. No attempt to make up for the lack of food, like knock a few dollars off or comp free dessert or drinks. Pretty disappointing experience as I used to love this restaurant but there are so many other good restaurants in the area so I doubt I'll return here. If I'm craving good vietnamese, I'll drive out to Garlic and Chives in Cerritos instead.

They were out of half the menu items we ordered. Staff was very slow. I had to steal water from dining companion's glasses as they rarely came by to check on us.

The wine.

They changed their menu. Lots of pork and beef dishes and barely anything GF. Even the vegetable dishes had meat! Restaurant also appeared to be short-staffed.

Whole experience is just awesome, great food, great service; will return. Travelzoo should extend the offer.

I love Little Sister! Maybe not so much this location. They've got some things to work on. Storefront staff member is really sweet but I would rather go to the DTLA location. I've been to the DTLA location many times and absolutely love it in all aspects! I tried Redondo Beach location today via takeout. I ordered the following. The numbers at the end are the cost. 1. ‘bo tai chanh’ lime-marinated raw beef, rau ram, basil mint, onions, fried shallots, nuoc mam cham 16 2. ‘pho banh cuon’ with beef & tendon, herbs, lettuce, pickled onion 16 3. shaky shaky beef, watercress, baby tomatoes, burnt butter soy 33 4. saigon lemongrass beef, vermicelli noodle, herbs, cucumbers, chili-lime dressing 19 NOTE: They use a lot of chili peppers in their dishes. Was quite spicy. I picked a lot of them out but there's more. I'm new to items 1-2 but had 3-4 few times before. Flavors were tasty and memorable like the DTLA store but I still favor them a bit more. They have better execution. I've heard many are a big fan of the 'pho banh cuon' but I didn't feel the same about it. It's just okay. It might be the 'pho' part of this dish that I didn't like. I prefer Pho to be traditional rather than transformed into another dish like how some places have Pho burritos...just doesn't appeal. I will not be ordering this again. Shaky shaky beef is my favorite. Forgot to ask if I could get it medium rare. I remember this was an option when ordering before but I forgot and the staff member didn't ask how I wanted the steak prepared. It turned out well done which is a complete waste of a really good piece of steak!! You never cook a steak well done, NEVER! Sigh. The rice was a bit dry. The watercress salad had some rotten/dying leaves which should have been removed. That's a no no kitchen staff. You should know better. Several glaringly yellow leaves standing out but still left in the salad. Please don't do this again. Oh and the lemongrass beef vermicelli noodles had the lettuce core in it! OK do we really feed people this? Do you eat the core yourself? Whoever prepped the lettuce needs to take more care. I'd say there could be a lot more care taken in packaging these dishes. A lot of it was overly sauced. Some dishes should have had the sauce on the side in a small container as to not drown the salads and wilt them. They were overly wilted. The food came in nice durable quality containers. I had to request napkins and utensils but they didn't have any on hand?!?! No disposable utensils?! Just wooden disposable chopsticks but even those were uncovered. Didn't feel very sanitary to use. Thanks for them but I didn't trust using unwrapped utensils. It's not okay to let takeout customers receive packaged food without utensils. Another no no for them to work on. I still love Little Sister! I would definitely eat it again. Just maybe not this location but I hope they fix some of these no nos soon!

Please improve how dishes are packaged such as dishes with fresh herbs and salad should come with sauces on the side. Make disposable utensils available for takeout orders and should be quality checked that all necessities are included before orders are handed to customers. Ensure phone line is available as I tried calling multiple times and got busy signal.

It is a very pleasant place to eat, the food was amazing and the service is second to none especially our server Stephanie. We are planning to go back in 2 weeks to bring some of our best friends.
