This Travel Zoo package was excellent. We had a wonderful time. It is a bit of a quiet resort at this time of year (mid August), which was fine with us.
Other Comments
Great place for a holiday for adult couples and families. We had a Signature Casita Suite, which was roomy and beautiful. Service was exceptional. Staff were excellent. Sport activities were included and great to try out. The Travel Zoo special made it worthwhile; especially the all-inclusive package. Otherwise, meals would be quite pricey. Only thing to note it there isn't a lot re night life, no night shows that are common at many other resorts. Having said that, it was perfect for us. We would definitely go back.

This was our second time at the Fairmont Mayakoba and it did not disappoint. The food is fantastic, the drinks are great, and the resort is beautiful. Our signature casita room seemed a little outdated but still comfortable and most importantly clean.
Be sure to make dinner reservations as we saw other groups waiting for long periods to get a table without a reservation.

Overall great! Staff are amazing.
All inclusive had too many restrictions, and off limit menu items or bars etc. If it’s all inclusive it should count.
Did not apply spa credit for one of our family members who used the spa services. Travelzoo did not say it was only for massage. She wasn’t even happy with her service and she cancelled subsequent bookings.
Rooms were nice but being in jungle there are lots of critters.
Beds and pillows just ok. Can be upgraded for comfort.
We have done a lot of all inclusive places in Mexico over the years. And while it was nice and exclusive at Fairmont we definitely didn’t think it was worth the money we paid compared to much less expensive hotels.
There was a lot of construction going on too. Which we knew was happening and likely why they offered this deal.

All inclusive should be ALL inclusive.
Don’t block off certain bars or restaurants or menu items.

My family and I had a great time at the resort. We enjoyed all of our meals and the pool area. We enjoyed the beach club. The only complaint was check out. We tried several times to get assistance with our bags to no avail. I also did not get the highchair or baby bath that I requested in the room prior to arrival.

Allow people to order room service through the Concierge or through the guest portal. My baby was sleeping and I woke him up when I had to call to order breakfast.

A small group of friends chose this location to celebrate a 50th Birthday. We had a delightful time. I can't say enough how friendly and attentive the staff were. The accomodations were quite divine. Our trip was in May, which is not the height of the season. So it wasn't sold out. That said, there were lots of people there, yet we felt like we had the place almost to ourselves. There are so many pools and restaurants to choose from. It was very special.

This was a wonderful resort - the food was exceptional, great quality drinks and wine selections, beautiful property with plenty of space such that we never felt like we were in a crowd. Beautiful rooms and property layout. One note is that there is not much entertainment or live music. Not a big issue for us but different than some other experiences we've had in the area - hands down the best place we've stayed in multiple trips to this part of Mexico!

Great time. The staff makes it. Irvin at the pool bar was awesome. What a worker. Also Jimmy and Daniel at Brisa’s. And Raul and the bartenders at the lobby bar. The food was good. Especially Tauro Steak house. The room cleaning staff was the best I’ve ever experienced. Not once did they bother us but magically every time we returned to the room it was spotless. Overall an excellent hotel. This was our second stay and we will return.

The staff was very nice. They were helpful. At the restaurant we ate at the first night which I think was La Laguna, our waitress, Lizabeth, was absolutely amazing, helpful, and knowledgeable.

The check in process was interesting. In advance we requested early check in of 12p and understood it would depend on availability upon arrival. When checking in, there was an unexpected upselling pitch to consider other rooms on the property for an extra “x” dollars, and for the most expensive option if we selected that we could have the room immediately otherwise we’d have to wait. We decided to wait and were not able to check into our room until 3p. Personally it didn’t set a great tone for starting our stay with the Fairmont.
Our room phone did not work which we reported and it was never fixed. For questions that we could call to ask, we either needed to go to the lobby or send an email which created for inconvenience. In requesting a boat lagoon tour by email then going to the lobby, we were given 2 dif’t reservations, so there’s probably an opportunity to ensure there is 1 guest record where notes and updates are logged in real time, as I believe this would avoid duplicate work for the staff and lessen confusion for the guest.

Warm and friendly greetings from virtually all the staff, really makes you feel welcome. We dined in every restaurant during our week visit and throughly enjoyed the service and food at all. Our friends who joined us for their first visit to Mayakoba stated “best food hands down” compared to other Mexican resorts they have visited. Special shout out to Vanessa who made our beach dinner at KiBar memorable.

My friend from first grade and I celebrated our 80th birthdays here. It is a beautiful resort though quite spread out. They have golf carts to get you around but need better signage when on foot. We were disappointed that we were not able to eat in 2 of the restaurants due to a large group booked at the hotel, but the other options were quite good. It would have been nice to have additional breakfast venues. More lighting is needed in the guest rooms as well. The hotel staff was excellent and very attentive to our needs. We had 2 birthday cakes!!

This is a beautiful resort. It is very clean and well minted and run very well. However I would not recommend this place for couples. It is filled with young families and though we enjoy children,
Fine dining and peaceful moments by the pool are hard to come by. The place is large so you can find some pockets. The beach is well maintained and we enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding. We don’t like the wave barriers visually but they make for nice moments in the water.
The staff are lovely and aee very kind and helpful. The casitas are much nicer than the hotel rooms.
Food
Is good to very good but not great. Food is very expensive, more expensive than the states, so the all inclusive is worth it if you like to eat and drink. It makes it a costly, but enjoyable time.
