To reach Azura Beach Resort, travelers will fly into Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR); from there, it's a two-hour drive to the resort. Roundtrip airport transfers for two adults from/to Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport are included in the offer.
Transfers from/to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San Jose can be arranged for an additional fee; contact the hotel directly to arrange transfers.

The Ocean View Junior Suite rooms have zero ocean view. It is definitely not the right value for that amount of money. The Travelzoo Advertisement is very misleading.

This boutique type resort was such a gem! The resort was beautiful and the staff were all amazing. The food was excellent and the property was gorgeous!

Durly was the most amazing person I met at the resort. She is beautiful both inside and out. We also had some amazing servers that were outstanding as well.

Generally speaking, the property was not prepared for guests. There was a lot of construction as the place was being renovated, they were under staffed and the staff was not trained. The room lacked some of the amenities that were promised and the wall outlet came out when I plugged my phone in to charge.

The room was not ocean view as expected. We saw the pool and trees and way in the distance was the ocean.
Every day, I had to ask housekeeping for 2 hand towels, 2 wash clothes, 2 bottles of water. The front desk assumed we had a dispenser in our room & that was not the case which was a daily reminder.
We wanted to ride the electric bikes but they was no charger on property.
The food was mediocre and reservations could only be made day of.

The additional tours were nice but there was always confusion about when and if we'd be going and when. The staff was attentive, but our room service orders were frequently totally wrong. But it was quiet and the food was good. It was a bit out of the way, though. Next time we'd probably stay somewhere more central so we could actually do the trips and activities we wanted.

My sister and I went and really loved our experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, and several of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. We booked a couple of excursions and a spa package, and they were great. We also rented kayaks on the beach. There was a casual camaraderie among the guests, most nights there was music at dinner at Chill & Grill, and we loved seeing the wildlife.

The concierge Luna booked an excursion for us and made us pay ahead of time. Then she canceled it because they needed at least 4 people for the excursion to happen and nobody else signed up. She assured us we would be reimbursed and we have been trying to get the hotel to give us our $265 refund since the morning we left (when they promised time and time again that we would receive it to our credit card within 30 days), and now they are saying they don’t owe us the money and don’t return our messages 3 months later. The manager refused to speak with us about this.
Also, the gym and spa were closed for renovating which they didn’t tell us ahead of time, and most nights although we were promised 4 restaurants to choose from, we only had one option so we ate the same food the entire trip. Poor management.

Resort had no hot water for two days. Mosquitos and sand flees on the beach. Booking zip lines.. they would not only take 2 people.. 4 required to fulfill an excursion.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff was always very helpful and the food was delicious. It was a peaceful vacation and I would go back again. My only complaint was that the pool shut down at 6 pm and wished we could have done some night swimming.

The resort was beautiful, but seems like it was just getting reopened after remodeling. All the kinks not worked out and much of the staff wasn’t sure of procedures. Concierge people had lots of problems booking excursions. Biggest problem, hot water, or nearly total lack of it. Took 20-30 minutes of run time to get warm. Such a waste of resources.
Kitchens and bar area totally shut down at 10pm, which seems a bit early for a resort.
