About the Destination

My husband and I had the most wonderful 4 night stay at The Lodge at Jaguar Reef this past August. The setting and rooms were simply beautiful, the food and drinks were some of the best we've ever had in all our travels, and the staff simply couldn't have been more amazing. Having gone during off season, we felt at times like we were the only vactioners staying at the entire resort - and the staff took every opportunity to personalize our stay. On our last night, the servers set up a private dinner right on the beach for my husband and I as a surprise farewell. The trip was our first vacation away from our 18 month old little girl and we've already been talking about when we can return to The Lodge at Jaguar Reef and take her with us next time. We couldn't recommend Belize or this resort more!

The location was exceptional. Once you go through travel challenges to fly to Belize and puddle jumper, you kind of enter into “Oasis”. Our villa was a lifetime memory❤️ The plunge pool and modern but classic amenities were worth the experience. Whole stay was made memorable with most attentive and gracious staff. From checking in to Bartendrs at Big Dock👏🏻👏🏻 We would definitely visit this resort in future. Travelzoo offer was worth every penny.

Well, unfortunately, by the time we got to the resort, I had gotten sick from a day at Tikal, so I was not feeling well. Then, my husband ended up getting sick as well. So, we really didn't get to enjoy the resort much. With that being said, all of the staff were wonderful! Everybody we dealt with, Kira, Jules, Richard (bartender), Gabriel and Jimmy were fantastic. Richard went out of his way to be sure I had ginger tea for my cough, special chicken soup made for my husband. For the few times we did get to eat in the restaurant, Gabriel was fabulous. Kira and Jules were always on hand for anything we needed. Our room was exceptional and I was sure to jump in the plunge pool at least a couple of times. Thankfully, the bed was VERY comfortable -- especially since that is where we ended up spending most of our time. We will certainly go back to really get to enjoy the resort.

Our experience at The Lodge at Jaguar Reef was incredible. I appreciated the welcome to the resort (including a welcome drink and an orientation), the remarkable staff members, the fresh, delicious meals for breakfast and dinner, the direct access to the beach and the pools, the spacious, beautifully decorated room with the private plunge pool (loved the artwork and the decor) and patio space providing a view of the beach, complimentary bikes (had the opportunity to explore Hopkins), and the peace and quietness of the Hopkins. I look forward to going back and recommending to my family and friends.
