About the Destination

Located between the Arabian and Laccadive Seas, the remote island nation of the Maldives is widely considered to have some of the best beaches in the world, with pristine white sand, clear turquoise water and world-class diving.

To reach the resort, guests will fly to Malé International Airport (MLE) and transfer via domestic flight and short speedboat ride (transportation to the resort is not included with this deal, see below for more details).

International flights and domestic transfers to the resort are not included in this deal.

Roundtrip domestic flight and speedboat transfers are an additional $575 per person. Domestic flights take up to 1 hour 45 minutes, and the short speedboat journey is approximately 30-40 minutes. Waiting times for transfers to the resort vary from 1-4 hours due to flight schedules. All transfers are arranged through the resort. Please provide your full name as shown on your passport, international arrival and departure flight number, and dates at least 21 days before arrival to book transfers with the resort.

Voucher cancellation and refund policy: Within 14 days of purchase, Travelzoo will give you a full refund if you change your mind or can't find dates that suit you. Everything great except for the rooms. It very difficult for the AC to keep the room cool. Also, the lighting system is very awkward with all lights on or dimmed. It is near impossible for 1 person to read when the other wants to sleep. Minor quibbles in the big picture. The place is lovely.

Wonderful time all around. Great service, accommodations, activities, and food. The only drawback was that we could not go to another island to learn more about the culture of and life in the Maldives due to COVID. But we knew that going in, and still had a great time.

My husband & I spent 7 days & nights at the resort celebrating a milestone anniversary in a beach pool villa. The tiny island locale was perfectly remote with long shores and reefs to explore. The resort offered enough common areas and food options while maintaining the barefoot luxury feel and protecting the integrity of the limited island resources. Everything was beautifully groomed, updated, and easy to access/take advantage of within a short-but-private walk. The staff was phenomenally friendly and helpful. Our villa was absolutely perfect - tucked in unobtrusively on the beach with a private infinity pool, sizable room and bathroom with an additional, large outdoor tub/shower area in back. It was impeccably cleaned, refreshingly cool, and offered great amenities and extra towels, treats, water, and lighting options. We most enjoyed relaxing on the beach, snorkeling, dining/drinking, and sunset/sunrise yoga on the piers daily. We took advantage of the beach BBQ the first night of our arrival. It was the best meal we had and a significant price addition to our meal plan, offering a buffet of international dishes, desserts, and meats & seafoods grilled to order. The wine buffet was another price point we did not partake in. Surprisingly, the BBQ was offered later in the week. We bought it again, but in hind site two beach BBQs probably weren't worth the investment. We had the half board meal plan, which included breakfast and 3-courses at dinner. It was the right choice for us as we didn't plan on having large lunches or several alcoholic beverages. The main dining area was beautiful and offered plenty of options. For an additional price (with a discount) we also had dinner at the Grill restaurant - our second-best meal. Daily breakfast was great and plentiful; and we lacked for nothing, but don't expect a huge buffet like some other Hyatt resorts. Cocktails weren't cheap, but they were delicious. The signature massage spa ritual was divine! The Equator Tour was not worth the high price. Snorkeling was better at the resort. The boat ride was bumpy. The dolphins weren't friendly that day. The beach picnic was comprised of cool seafood and cracker/dip options only and was prepared on an uninhabited island covered in trash. Similar excursions in other remote island resorts delivered more for a lower price. Overall, the trip was incredible!

There is a new chef who is slowly overhauling all things food related. I'm excited for the changes he introduced. The breakfast menu was updated while we were on site. The small-but-significant changes were worthwhile.

I went with 2 adult friends, my husband and young child. The resort itself is beautiful and is surrounded by a lovely house reef. We had a great villa with an idyllic view of the jetty, beach, and clear turquoise waters. The staff were all very nice and accommodating. We all thought it was an amazing experience and liked the food and the wildlife (we got to meet the reef turtle Ben!) We were there for a week and there was a lot to do every day, but we also had a lot of time to just lounge around. I thought a week was a good amount of time to spend on the small island- unless you go diving in different locations. Some things to be aware of: there's not too many young kids on the island - i saw 2 others while we were there - so there's not too many activities for little kids. However, my daughter wasn't bored and she enjoyed just practicing how to snorkel and hanging out in the villa and pool. My daughter also loved the boat crew (of the one level speed boat), and they were super nice and sweet with her and watched her while we snorkeled. The communication and timing among staff was not always smooth - for example, we gave our order for cooking fish that we caught but the next day we had to give it again as the staff thought we had ordered it cooked differently. Another example is we got seated on the boat to depart a bit early and it was quite hot while we waited for the remaining guests. It didn't bother us too much, but some people may expect more seamless communication and scheduling. As part of our package, we had to pay $44 for child dinner, which I felt was a bit steep for a 4 year old. That's why I knocked the value down a star. But they did accommodate us by making her dishes off menu, which was nice. Also we didn't have to pay to take her along on boat activities. The other thing is that the hotel only offered PCR tests, and not the cheaper ART tests. I understand that's pretty common among Maldives resorts, but it still is several hundred extra dollars we had to spend. Overall, we are glad we went and experienced this tropical paradise, and we appreciate all the staff for their kindness and going the extra mile to help fulfill our requests. Highly recommend.

Other Comments

For those with sensitive skin, I did have allergic reactions to organisms in the sea and was very itchy. This didn't stop me from snorkeling every day. I was able to get some lotions from the doctor to help with the itching. One other thing I noticed is that the hotel addressed most things to my husband (e.g., Mr X and family) instead of me or both of us, when i did all the booking and communications, which i found slightly sexist.
