When searching for a hotel deal, first determine a rough plan for the trip. Your destination may be top priority with a hot deal guiding your travel dates or maybe you’re planning a trip over specific dates, but leaving flexibility for where you’ll go.
Review at least a handful of Hotels to become familiar with your destination’s neighborhoods, and compare central locations to those slightly outside of the main tourist spots. Determine if you prefer a large well-known hotel brand or the experience of a smaller boutique hotel.
If you will be flying to your destination, be sure to evaluate the prices of booking flights and hotels separately against the price of a vacation package deal that includes both hotel and airfare together.
Once you’ve narrowed down your hotel options to a small list, look into free extras that may be included in the room rate. This may be free parking, daily breakfast, wine at check-in or other amenities to sweeten the standard price. Also note any promotions included in the rate, such as an upgrade to a larger room or a room with a view.
