About the destination:
A 16th-century colonial city framed by snow-capped mountains and boasting countless sights and a celebrated food scene, Puebla was dubbed "Mexico's best kept secret" by the Houston Chronicle.
But with glowing travel guides in Conde Nast Traveler, CNN Traveler and the New York Times, we dare say the secret is about to be out on Mexico's fourth largest city.
Known for its Baroque architecture and brightly colored walls ("seriously, every wall offers an Instagram opp," says Conde Nast Traveler), visitors to Puebla can spend their days exploring the city's UNESCO World Heritage downtown district and some of the its 365 churches, scoping out what was Mexico's largest pyramid, eating mole and gorditas (both originated in Puebla) and shopping at the markets -- the city's hand-crafted Telavra ceramics are especially popular souvenirs.
The weather is temperate year-round, with a warm and overcast wet season and comfortable and partly cloudy dry season. Temperatures vary from 43-79 degrees year round.
