Why We Love This Hotel

  • Liverpool's waterfront, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes the Royal Liver Building, is opposite the hotel
  • The Royal Albert Dock, home to Tate Liverpool and The Beatles Story museum, is less than 15 minutes' walk away
  • The hotel's bar and restaurant have views of the Mersey

The Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel is a 12-storey building in the city's bustling commercial district, with impressive views of the city and the Mersey.

The hotel is just across the street from Liverpool's waterfront. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it includes the famous Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building (known collectively as the Three Graces), which are less than five minutes' walk away. The Royal Albert Dock, which is home to Tate Liverpool, the Merseyside Maritime Museum and The Beatles Story museum, is 15 minutes' walk.

Other attractions within 15 minutes' walk include the Wheel of Liverpool (a Ferris wheel that offers impressive views of the Mersey), the Museum of Liverpool and the Cavern Quarter. Head to the latter to see the Cavern Club, the subterranean bar where the Beatles made their name, playing 292 gigs from 1961-1963.

At the hotel, you can sit and take in views of Liverpool's dynamic skyline with a drink at the Vue Bar and Terrace or grab a bite to eat at the hotel's Vista Restaurant.

All rooms have wall-mounted motifs of Liverpool attractions. Superior rooms are larger than Standard rooms and have added toiletries.

Coronavirus, checked they were still functioning before set off, unfortunately the restaurant closures meant that they could not tell us if we would be able to have dinner or breakfast the following morning! Also the car parking fees were not as stated , receptionist stated that they had been increased in last few days as they”had to get as much money in as they could “ Decided to leave immediately, no stay at all, wasted petrol going there!

We were unable to postpone our visit due government reconditions on travel due to the Corvona virus. Phoned the hotel and and they were not interested in giving us another date to stay so that's £65 gone with doing what the government recommend. I even sent yourselves (Travel Zoo) an email and got the same no help reply

We had a wonderful 2 days stay. The restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Irene and Pauline. Martin on reception gave us wonderful rooms and we didn't get chance to thank him personally due to his shift pattern.

Paid an extra £5 for breakfast in our room. Very disappointing, arrived cold, black pudding was inedible. Decaf coffee was like dish water. Such a shame because everything else was perfect

One night stat through Travelzoo was terrific value. Evening menu limited and one of the three starters was not available. Superb room and breakfast was ok. Good parking at reasonable cost But hotel is a pain for a satnav to find if approaching from Strand St
