The Hotel Hesperia Madrid is a bright and airy, modern 4.5-star hotel on the cosmopolitan Paseo de la Castellana, in the heart of the business and cultural area of Madrid, near restaurants and chic shops.
Santiago Bernabéu Stadium (home of Real Madrid FC), the Natural Science Museum, the National Archaeological Museum and the Museo Sorolla -- a small but fascinating museum dedicated to the works of Spanish Impressionist painter Joaquin Sorolla -- are all within 23 minutes' walk from the hotel. It is also convenient for sightseeing around the city, with the nearest Metro (Gregorio Marañón) only a 1-minute walk from the hotel.
The modern, spacious, elegantly furnished guest rooms and suites include a marble bathroom with heated towel rails, a demisting station and TV speakers so you can hear the TV while bathing; luxurious bedding with a pillow menu; a hospitality gift; bathrobe and slippers; a reading area and writing desk; an LCD TV with over 320 channels; an iPod docking station; free Wi-Fi; a mini bar; access to the fitness room; 24-hour room service; turndown service; and a Nespresso coffee machine. The larger suites offer additional separate living areas, some with private terraces featuring outdoor Jacuzzis and canopies.
There are three refined restaurants: the intimate, 2-Michelin-starred Santceloni Restaurant, which additionally features a well-stocked wine cellar, a sommelier and a Smoking Club for after-dinner socialising; La Manzana, a large atrium-style restaurant filled with natural light and serving innovative seasonal dishes; and the Hikari Sushi Bar, specialising in Japanese. There are two bars -- the cosy Scotch Bar and the spacious, light-filled Lobby Bar -- for light meals and a selection of gins, whiskeys, rums and cocktails. The bars also feature football evenings and gin jazz sessions. The hotel also features eight meeting rooms and a fitness centre with massage treatments (for an extra cost).
