The Westin Fort Lauderdale
Why We Love This Hotel
- Remodeled in 2016, the Westin now boasts a sleek design as well as Starbucks and Tazo products in all rooms
- This fitness-focused hotel organizes weekly 3- to 5-mile runs for guests and offers mapped routes for solo runners
- Pets stay free
Following its 2016 renovation, "the upscale Westin Fort Lauderdale emerged as a sleek and contemporary property capable of outshining its price point" (Oyster.com), and we agree. Chic furnishings, marble floors and a living wall in the lobby greet guests upon arrival. Plus, there are large modern art pieces hanging in each room, along with free Wi-Fi and complimentary Starbucks coffee products. Suites feature balconies with views of the city.
The hotel's location in a high-end corporate park makes it an obvious choice for business travelers. However, popular beaches, like Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and Pompano Beach, are only a 15-minute drive away. The Westin staff also organizes activities for guests -- for instance, the weekly runs -- in addition to the on-site fitness center, heated outdoor pool and hot tub.
Freebies include parking and pet stays (proof of up-to-date vaccines required). Flat-screen TVs come standard as well, with access to HBO and cable channels.
