We grew up in Iowa and are Hawkeyes grads so this was a special experience. Everything was so unique. Didn’t try the golf simulator and pool was under renovation but these are cool features that add to the Hotel’s appeal. Gene’s restaurant was unique, including the bathrooms! Enjoyed food and drink sitting at outside tables listening to live music on the Pedestrian Mall. Made for a lovely evening!

Storage not organized. Instead of one place, clothes had to be put here and there. Shower tub slippery. Bed comfortable, linens made us hot.

I was hoping the book display was a small library for guests to check out books and read in a comfortable atmosphere. I was disappointed I could not even see the titles. (That’s What attracted me to the hotel.) I did enjoy reading the poetry on the walls. It inspired me to want to write more. I’m an English teacher !

The location is optimal, and the food in the area is great.
Other Comments
The room and bathroom weren't very clean -- the trashcan was full, the glasses had been used, etc -- which was somewhat off putting.
