Many years back, the land where Fredericksburg Hospitality House now stands was occupied by a dairy farm. Many elements of the structures, including the circular walls of the silo, have been preserved and add to the character of this property. Recent renovations add coveted elements of modern times, such as complimentary Wi-Fi access and more appealing guest rooms.

Whether you’re visiting the area for business or pleasure, there are many perks to choosing this hotel as a home base, including complimentary parking. The hotel is a 10-minute drive to the Fredericksburg downtown historic district, dotted with Colonial structures. The district. listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is "well worth your time" (Frommer's) thanks to the boutique stores, antique shops, cafes and plenty of Colonial and Civil War historic sites. Oenophiles can launch an exploration of the nearby Grapes & Grains Trail, which includes four wineries, three breweries and a distillery.

Begin your day with a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast with entrees like Belgian waffles and Virginia sugar-cured ham. For lunch or dinner, stop by Ledo Pizza, a popular chain on the East Coast for Italian cuisine. Menu options include shareable appetizers, craft pizzas, subs and specialty drinks. The on-site bar and grill serves local brews and wines, and also features live music on weekends.

After a long day of meetings or exploring the area, rejuvenate in the junior Olympic-size outdoor pool in warmer months. Then head to a guest room where sliding glass doors lead to a patio or balcony (depending on which floor you are staying).

It was clean and the staff was pleasant.

Beds were uncomfortable, very thin walls between rooms, and thin bed linens so it was a little cold.
