Overview

This new boutique hotel in downtown Nashville puts guests within a short walk of everything that makes the city sing, but once you're inside, you'll feel miles away from downtown's busy streets. Creativity greets you at nearly every turn here, as the hotel also serves as an art museum open to the public 24/7 (with free tours twice a week).

Guest rooms here are tranquil and minimalist, with plush bedding, large windows and floor-to-ceiling drapery, 43-inch flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and original artwork in every room. Deluxe rooms offer king and double-queen bed options, while luxury-level rooms offer more space to stretch out and enhanced bathrooms. Some suites feature outdoor terrace spaces that may overlook the Nissan Stadium across the river, while Artists Suites feature musical instruments and a recording studio, as well as a space curated by actor/director Adrian Grenier.

The hotel also features an on-site restaurant and bar, Gray & Dudley, named for the company that, in 1900, constructed the building in which the hotel resides. There's also an on-site spa, fitness center and business center; guests can enroll in events like yoga classes in the art museum. The hotel sits on Second Avenue, which is plenty busy with restaurants and bars offering free music nearly every hour of the day and night, and you're less than a 10-minute walk from Nashville's famous Broadway with even more honky-tonks and music venues (and more bars).

Parking is an issued and valet parking at $38 is very high, plus tax, then you feel obligated to tip so you are parking for over $40, they should be open with info. on where to park with options in parking lots that would be cheaper,

Really unique theme to the hotel that is different than anything else I have ever stayed at being that their is contemporary art throughout the place and penguins. The restaurant was very good.

There was some issues I experienced. 1) The wake up call didn't come. When they called me to ask when I might be leaving the room the first day because they wanted to replace a table, they saw that they set the wake up call for the next day. This cost me 2 hours. 2) they called my room by accident at 1 am and that woke me up on night 2. I thought the property was a tad cold and even their employees would speak about that. The thermostat in my room didn't heat up it felt like. While I am knocking them, I would stay here again. Everyone can have a bad day.

The staff! The staff was so attentive from the moment we arrived even taking us on a little tour of the hotel and telling us the history of the building. We would love to stay again.
