Fresh off top-to-bottom renovations, ARC The.Hotel opened its doors in May. The boutique hotel is located in Washington's Foggy Bottom neighborhood within a 10-minute walk of George Washington University and the Lincoln Memorial. Popular attractions like the Kennedy Center, Smithsonian museums and Georgetown Waterfront Park are less than a 20-minute drive from the hotel, and the Metro stops two blocks away, connecting guests to the entire city.

High-tech guest rooms feature keyless entry, Smart TVs, USB-enabled bedside tables, a customized pillow menu, virtual concierge and free Wi-Fi. Accommodations are outfitted with stone bathrooms, Keurig coffeemakers, refrigerators and king or queen beds. Upgrades are available suites with sofa beds, desks, plush robes and additional televisions.

While renovations to guest rooms and the fitness center were completed earlier in 2018, the hotel's restaurant is currently under construction and slated to open in mid-October. In the meantime, complimentary coffee, juice and pastries will be served in the lobby.

We were happy with the hotel except for 2 things... With 2 people showering in the morning, only the first person got hot water. The second person did not on either morning of our stay. We also had a ceiling light that continued to flicker on and off once the light was turned off. We reported this to the front desk and some one did look at it, but it was never fixed, and there was no communication as to why, or what the problem was...

The location was excellent. Near the Foggy Bottom Metro Station and near restaurants and Whole Foods supermarket.
Other Comments
The staff were always helpful and courteous when we spoke to them. We found the first room to be so uncomfortably hot that we had to swap rooms after trying to adjust the temp for several hours. There was no hot water for several hours including the next morning. We also had issues with TV reception. We enjoyed ourselves none-the-less and it might be part of 'growing pains" after the renovations. It is not a 4 star hotel but an adequate 3 star hotel. It's location is excellent.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was large and fine.
Other Comments
1. When we turned the heat on it sounded like we were standing next to jets taking off and stayed loud the whole time it was on. 2. There is a motion light that is bright and turns on when you walk in the room (a nice feature) but it is so sensitive that it continually turns on throughout the night when you just adjust your blankets. I got out of bed, turned it off and in seconds it went back on. Every time I thought it was off, it would turn on again. The front desk told me I would have to have called the front desk and they could turn it off from there (who knew?)

Good location and price

It was way too hot and the staff said there was nothing they could do, once the heat is on, that’s it even though it was in the 70s outside. Also on Saturday night during prime time they changed the internet password which took over an hour. Seemed like poor timing.

Rooms were newly renovated and really nice. Quiet. Biggest TV ever in a hotel room. Location great -- two blocks from a metro station.

Lobby and elevators could use a little updating. Believe that is in progress now.
