Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Seven Gables Inn has charm and sophistication that's apparent from the moment guests set foot in the lobby. With Tudor-influenced touches like a massive chimney and narrow windows, the inn feels intimate while being conveniently located about a 15-minute drive from downtown St. Louis.

The upscale suburb of Clayton where the property resides is home to lively bars, restaurants and shops, less than 10 minutes away via the nearby Metrolink. High-profile business like Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Brown Shoe Company are close as well, making it an ideal place to stay for business travelers.

Rise and shine each day with a complimentary European continental breakfast, including pastries, coffee and juices. Lunch and dinner are served at Molly Darcys, an Irish pub specializing in comfort foods and beverages. On weeknights, after meetings or sightseeing, sample wine and cheese at the complimentary reception.

The Missouri Botanical Garden, listed among the area's top attractions (TripAdvisor), is a 15-minute drive from the inn. Wander through the 10-acre Japanese garden showcasing waterfalls and Zen-style gardens or visit the butterfly house. There are special programs for kids, but people of all ages can explore and relax in this scenic wonderland.

As the day draws to a close, kick back in a well-appointed room with Wi-Fi access.

Enjoyed Most: The location was a great location but from t that point on was not so great for the money, the room was relatively small, I've started at places with far more room and comfort for far less money, the pillows are way too soft names for an uncomfortable sleep. The bathroom was fine not great, there are no fans installed in the bathroom so it gets stuffy fast, the shower has plumbing problems with loud noises coming out of the pipes while showering not a relaxing shower at all. The staircase leading up to the rooms was very narrow and the floorboards moved and creaked, I might be being too picky but all in all not for me....
