The Chess Hotel
About the Hotel
Why We Love This Hotel
- The hotel is in a quiet area near the Palais Garnier opera house
- The interior features elegant furnishings and unique artwork
- It's a 5-minute walk from a major Metro stop (Opera)
The Chess Hotel has an enviable location near some of Paris's best-loved attractions, including the Palais Garnier opera house and Galeries Lafayette department store. If you visit the Palais Garnier, don't forget to look up -- there's a beautiful bronze-and-glass chandelier and a ceiling fresco that was painted by Marc Chagall in 1964.
The property is a 10-minute walk from Grands Boulevards, where you'll find the Grévin Museum, the Hard Rock Café, the Folies Bergère theatre and the Grand Rex cinema. It’s also only a few steps from a major Metro stop (Opera), making it easy to get around the city.
Despite being located in a bustling area of Paris, the hotel is on a quiet street. Design duo Gilles and Boissier have created a unique and artistic interior, with bold artwork and a black and white marble floor which pays homage to the property's name.
Rooms are decorated with works by French photographer Pierre-Elie de Pibrac, showing dancers from the Paris Opera. The Chess Hotel is the only place where these shots are exhibited.
Facilities include a snack bar, a cocktail lounge and a business centre.
