Beautiful property, attentive staff and delicious food and drink offerings! My only negative comment is re: the proximity to highway noise while outdoors in some areas, enjoying the beautiful surroundings - but easy to overlook when immersed in nature of the 3,500 acres.

We had a lovely stay and enjoyed many aspects of the property. It was very cold outside so the pool option was not utilized but the other inside options were all great.

Beautiful grounds. We ate at multiple restaurants on the property and at the golf course, they were all very good. Spa treatment was excellent! Wine tasting was fun, but we were surprised at how large the wine tasting facility was. We arrived on Sunday and there were lots of people wine tasting and in the spa. Monday-Wednesday was a lot less people/crowded.

We enjoyed the yoga, bike riding, and wine tasting. Bartenders were excellent. Enjoyed being able to spread our wine tastings over more than 1 day. Shuttles were always available at our beck-and-call! Staff was great.

Every single person employed at Chateau Elan was smiling and very very helpful. We went for one night only and ate casual at Paddy’s. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious. The food and drinks at each venue were a bit pricey for what it was. We had drinks at Louis- Anna was wonderful in helping us discover a new drink- thanks Anna ! Christina at Marc’s bar was a hoot and we had a great great time at the end of the evening talking and laughing with her.
We will probably return to eat lunch or dinner at Marc’s.

This was a quick overnight getaway to mark our 35th Anniversary. The grounds were/are beautiful, the building and amenities lovely. The staff were polite and professional, and our meal at Paddy's Pub was excellent.

We took in the tour and tasting and were decidedly underwhelmed. The cost far outweighed the value we got out of it. Had we been able to choose only dry or only sweet wines that would have been much preferred. Our guide would benefit from better scripting as most of her talk was about growing up in the area and her personal experiences with the winery and it's people.

Other than room, everything was overpriced - meals, bar, most activities had an extra fee despite being charged an activity fee

Chateau was impressive looking but hotel rooms were no better than a Holiday Inn. The bath towels were rough feeling and some were frayed. The straight back, upholstered chair was not what I would expect from a resort that billed itself as upscale. Two of the main restaurants were closed during our stay. The spa area and cafe were nice as was the pool area. The winery wines were average and way overpriced.
Appearance wise the resort looked luxurious but certainly fell far short of our expectations.

No information was given or acknowledged at check-in regarding the Travelzoo voucher credits (complimentary drinks, resort credit, parking discount, etc ), and thus none of it was applied at checkout until we pointed it out. The person who checked us out was very apologetic and made the appropriate adjustments, but the individual at check in should have been aware of this. This was the first time a property has made it difficult to appropriately honor a Travelzoo voucher, and we have used several.

Food and service was excellent. Golf course was well maintained and a pleasure to play. Room was ok, but needed some maintenance and cleaning attention.

Everyone was so very friendly. Love the atmosphere. The room we had was a bit worn. When they came to service our room they took all the dirty towels/washcloths/bath mats but did not replace any! They also took our wine glasses we were using for the bottles we purchased. A bit frustrating. Loved the pub and the live music there and the dj at the pool. VERY HIGHLY disappointed in the fact that when we tried to find a bottle of wine to purchase the first night (we arrived after the winery closed for the night) we had to pay over $20 MORE for the bottle of Merlot from either the restaurant or the House of Bourbon than it cost at the winery or the store in the hotel that was not open at that time. Really? We didn’t order it from room service-we walked and bought it ourselves. There is absolutely no reason to charge an extra $20 over anyplace else for the exact same bottle of Merlot. And didn’t even offer to open it or lend us a corkscrew or anything. Plus housekeeping took the wine glasses we were using to drink that bottle our fist night leaving us without stemmed glasses for our second night (to use with the bottles we purchased at the wine tasting the next day)
Other Comments
Would be super helpful to have a Corkscrew in the rooms as you are a winery and people do like to buy bottles to drink in the rooms!! Also for the daily amenity fee the bottle waters should be restocked each day. A welcome sip of wine at check in would also be a nice added touch. There are far too many additional fees (credit card fee/reservation fee/resort fee with a separate parking fee -really should all be one fee.

There are many positives things about Chateau Elon starting with the its beauty; however, the restaurants/food is not that good. The wine is OK but very over priced. The beauty is enough to pull you in,however.

We found the overall atmosphere cold, not as clean as we expected and much more expensive than expected. Everything on property carried some sort of price, regardless of what we wanted to do, with the exception of bicycles. Bicycles were free but with no real place to ride them for any length of time. The so-called nature trail was only a poorly maintained and poorly marked path that connected various parts of the road. We felt it was a redesignated maintenance road. Overall, very disappointing stay.

I did not like that the guy that checked me in was not welcomin; the hotel lost power and I was charged for two nights that I was not there for.

The clerk at the front desk was not welcoming. He was quick to tell me everything I would be charged for however he didn’t bother to give me the complimentary tickets for the poolside drinks that were included in the travel zoo offer. I explained to him and 2 other hotel clerks I had to cut the trip short and wanted to make sure I didn’t get charged and in the end I was still overcharged. This experience was not good for me this time. I also contacted Travelzoo about having to cut the trip short and Amanda at Travelzoo and she was not able to help me either.
