Though Moab has remained relatively small, its location within "a green valley among striking red sandstone cliffs" has made it a haven for adventure enthusiasts and Hollywood film scouts alike (Frommers). The infamous landscape has made appearances in John Wayne's "The Comancheros," the epic "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" and "Thelma and Louise." Film-buffs aside, the area has also been drawing mountain bikers and hikers for quite some time -- the town is within walking distance of Arches National Park, close to Canyonlands National Park and is surrounded by the Manti-La Sal National Forest.
Accommodation at Homewood Suites by Hilton Moab is big on amenities, both in-room and on-site. Each suite comes with a full kitchen with full-sized refrigerators, microwaves and dishwashers, perfect if you're planning on staying a while. If fending for yourself food-wise isn't your thing, the hotel offers complimentary hot breakfast and a 24-hour pantry market. There's also a pool and fitness center on-site, plus coin laundry and a full business center.
