Chicheley Hall is an English country house built in the 18th century in the Baroque style. It was bought by the Royal Society and now also serves as the Kavli Royal Society International Centre, a facility dedicated to the advancement of science.

The property has original period features, ornate chandeliers, grand staircases and a great hall that was used in the filming of "Pride and Prejudice".

The restaurant serves classic British and European dishes. Afternoon tea can be served in the garden (weather permitting).

Milton Keynes is less than 10 minutes away by car. This famous new town turned 50 in 2017 -- you can visit its plethora of restaurants and bars, or search for the Concrete Cows, iconic sculptures created by Canadian artist Liz Leyh.

Woburn Safari Park, a wildlife park with over 1000 animals including elephants, tigers and black bears, is approximately 15 minutes' drive away.

We had to change rooms due to window rattling in the wind.. also the lift noise as our room was next to the lift, the next room was much larger and OK.

We loved our stay at Chicheley Hall. First time we went in April and fell in love with it , so much that we went back and enjoyed it just as much. Friendly helpful staff, wonderful food. The grounds are beautiful so relaxing and tranquil.

I like a hotel which has character rather than a very modern hotel which can be soulless , the grounds were very good too much better than in a big town or city

The only negatives were when we arrived at 1.30 ish we were told check in wasnt until 3 even though it said 2 pm on the booking. Whilst the deal itself was very good value the drinks prices were steep £30 for 2 glasses of wine and 2 small bottles of beer !

Beautiful location & building.

Staff in restaurant were a little slow in their response time even during quiet periods. Need to be more specific about check in time, we ended up taking our heavy bags in the cold and quite late to an outer building up some stairs (there was no lift) - which we were not expecting (this would have been fine during the day) but we ended having to do this around 9pm.

The rooms were on the small side but given that you are only sleeping or getting ready for dinner ,this is not a massive problem
