lovely renovated restaurant 'dining room' and meals were delicious...staff very friendly
Other Comments
beautiful property but other than the newly renovated restaurant, buildings all in complete state of disrepair...they look neglected with peeling paint & even big holes of rotting wood....only 2 tennis courts open & even those shabby with grass coming through the cracks...cars even allowed to park on some of the tennis courts...had been looking forward to playing on the resort's golf course & it was completely dry & yellow....no maintenance/upkeep has been done in a long time...even the ping pong table's net was broken & hanging limp...staff friendly but not very knowledgeable at the front desk especially about the activities at the resort & there was conflicting information on the website vs what staff said vs the posters that were posted up around the 'resort'....if it wasn't for the absolutely gorgeous view and clean air conditioned rooms, we would have left...it is very sad to think that what was once such a grand hotel visited by generations of families over more than a century is being neglected to the point where other reviews of the resort reflected our same experience...really disappointed overall

The food was of a high standard and the setting is just beautiful!!! The availability of all the watersports is great. The room was not so great, but perfectly adequate. My husband found the mattress not up to standard. The staff was very friendly & acoomodating. A great stay!!

The food..cranberry appetizer was delicious. Server was great as well as hostess. The Monday night ski show was the best!!!

Very, very outdated and tired looking. Very, very limited wifii..available only in the main office. The grounds needed to be weeded, raked and swept. Sports facilities were in need of repair. One pool out of service. Unisex washroom above The Diningroom is completely unacceptable. Although there is a cubicle, the sink is opposite the urinal. No privacy. Unbelievable setup that needs to be changed ASAP.

The views are awesome (however we had a parking lot view!)

Very run down. No pool, hot tub, etc available but still charged the Resort Fee. Flooring coming up in our room; lamps did not work in our room; no blowdryer; cobwebs in the room. We only paid $99 but it wasn't even worth that. I don't know how people pay hundreds of $ to stay there!

The location, resort activities, food was excellent!

We could not check in until 5 pm as the room was not ready. No hangers in closet, and little space to store clothes, personal items. The cleaning staff never came to the room to restock or empty the garbage for 3 days we were there.

We enjoyed the view. the walk to Abbey's and the ski show. the room was fine - the resort is tired in places. When we arrived the room we received was very tiny and looked out on the parking lot. My husband went and upgraded to a room with a view of the lake. The pizza place was good food - pricey, but good. The meal in the restaurant was o.k. - not stunning, but good. The day we were there 2 bus loads of kids from the local school arrived with day passes and took over the beach and the hot tub was being jack-hammered all day; however, I asked if there were any other lounge chair locations and they allowed us to go to the Terrace Dock because of the circumstances - I appreciated that! It was a good break for my husband and I. He loved the ski show and tried flyboarding. ;
