Nature, culture and culinary: that's what the tri-border region of Germany, France and Switzerland offers. The Steigenberger Hotel Stadt Lörrach, which opened in June 2017, is a great base from which to explore the area including Alsace and the Black Forest. Or stay closer to home and visit the renowned museums in Basel and the Vitra Design Museum in Germany’s small town Weil am Rhein.
The state-of-the-art new building stands out from the center of Lörrach. There is a sauna and relaxation room on the 20th floor and has panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Rooms have great views of the city and the mountains and forests.
The classic-modern decor is warm and in light sand tones. We particularly liked the large glass raster image above the bed and the elegant bathrooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow plenty of light in the rooms. Free WiFi is included.
The Hebel restaurant, named after the Alemannic local poet Johann Peter Hebel, serves international classics as well as local specialties such as Maultaschen (swabian ravioli), veal slices and cottage pies.
