Overview

The Deddington Arms Hotel is a 16th-century country inn set off a market square in the quaint village of Deddington, 15 minutes' drive from the Cotswolds.

Deddington has a monthly farmer's market and is home to the ruins of the Norman Deddington Castle, which is five minutes' walk from the hotel. Banbury, a lively market town associated with the nursery rhyme "Ride a Cock Horse", and Broughton Castle -- a moated, fortified manor with ornamental gardens -- are both less than 15 minutes' drive away.

You can also explore Blenheim Palace or Chipping Norton, a quiet Cotswolds market town with "handsome" Georgian buildings (Lonely Planet), or make the most of designer clothing discounts at Bicester Village's outlet stores -- all within 20 minutes' drive. Silverstone Circuit is 30 minutes' drive away, while Warwick Castle and Oxford city centre both take 40 minutes by car.

The hotel has a traditional oak-beamed bar and restaurant, featuring slate floors and a log fire. Some bedrooms overlook the market square.

My o our only criticism was our room was very dark, and there were not enough plug sockets around the room There was a kettle provided but no plug anywhere near to plug it into! No mirror or plug for ladies to do their hair! Other than this our stay was excellent and we enjoyed it.

The only downside was that it is very near the church and the clock chimes on the hour, “every” hour. It was very hot weather when we stopped and with the window open we were woken every hour through the night. Other than that great food and very good value for money.

The restaurant was very good.
Other Comments
The room was very basic & plain. The bathroom was poor and did not smell very nice. The toilet was too close to the wall & toilet roll holder. The plumbing was very noisy with squealing pipes.

The restaurant. Very well prepared and presented food that tasted superb.
Other Comments
the disabled person should room is not suitable for all disabilities as it does not have a walk in shower with grab handles but has a bath with a shower over as do all the rooms apart from an upstairs suite. Because of this we unfortunately will not be able to return.
