Compared to pricier hotels in Banff, this is a great wallet-friendly option for those looking to save money for the slopes or nearby attractions. Although it's an older building, the lodge has plenty of amenities -- there’s a 24-hour concierge, ski and snowboard storage and even same-day dry cleaning. Guests can take advantage of what their sister hotel has to offer as well. Located next door, Banff Park Lodge has an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, fitness center and two on-site restaurants. Expect to pay for Wi-Fi and heated underground parking located at Banff Park Lodge, which is first-come, first-serve -- above-ground parking is free for all guests.

Rooms are small but clean with private balconies and patios; some showcasing views of the river. Larger Family Rooms have adjoining bedrooms with a shared bathroom, while the expansive River Suite has a rain shower and a sitting area with river views. Guests may find the decor a little dated; most rooms still have older-style televisions -- however, when it comes to Banff, the real show takes place outdoors.

It’s an ideal home base for summer or winter escapes -- with Lake Louise just a 40-minute drive away, it makes sightseeing day trips or ski excursions all the more tempting. Venture beyond Lake Louise to the Icefields Parkway, where you’ll find yourself on “easily one of the most awe-inspiring drives you'll ever encounter” (Frommer’s).

The underground heated parking was nice.

The room was very small amd overlooked the parking lot. The TV was tiny and an ancient tube type and wifi was not free but had to be paid for.

It’s in Banff!

Expensive for what it is. Person working the desk was unhelpful. Parking was located in a different hotel. Very noisy late at night. Beds hard as a rock. Internet for five dollars more.

The location was perfect. The ski bus was close by.
Other Comments
The room was very small. It was cramped between the sink and toilet area. The TV was an old tube style. The internet connection was poor. We didn't receive the coupon for the 25% off at the restaurant.

-great location - within walking distance of main street, beautiful spot right on the Bow river -able to use pool and jacuzzi at the hotel right next door

Basic and clean. Cheaper place to stay in Banff which is like all national parks geared to wealthy people.

Underground parking and hot tub were in the sister lodge across the way. Underground parking was full every night so we didn't get to use it despite driving and looking around on a number of occasions. Old TV with basic cable and had to pay for internet.

Jess and Sean at front desk, they were very apologetic. The location in Banff is great. Underground parking next door at Banff Park Lodge is very nice.
Other Comments
Impossible to sleep on Friday night because of the rowdy room next door - our Saturday ski day was tough because we were so tired. The rooms are clean but dated. The TV and lack of channels is very old school.
