Puerto Portals beach and its glamorous marina, packed with high-end shops and restaurants, are around 15 minutes' stroll from OD Port Portals, which offers "chic" accommodation with "a pared-back urban Scandinavian vibe" (The Daily Telegraph) and a façade lined with colourful bricks.
It's five minutes' walk from Marineland Mallorca amusement park and five minutes' drive from tropical-themed mini golf at Golf Fantasia. OD Port Portals is also well placed for exploring the rest of the island. Fourteenth-century Bellver Castle is 10 minutes' drive and Palma -- Mallorca's vibrant capital -- is a 15-minute drive away, while the Gothic-style Royal Palace of La Almudaina is a 20-minute journey and the Cuevas del Drach cave complex and underground lake takes about an hour to reach by car.
There's a trendy, design-driven feel to OD Port Portals' interiors. They include an open-plan lobby and a bar area combining floor-to-ceiling windows, wood and concrete accents, funky screens and classic chairs, including models by Eames. Guests can dine on regional dishes in the restaurant, cool off in the outdoor pool and enjoy weekly yoga and free Pilates classes. The rooftop bar has views of the harbour and the mountains, and hosts regular DJ nights. Other amenities include bikes rentals, massage services and access to a neighbouring gym (fees apply).
Sleek wood-panelled walls and warm earth tones define OD Port Portals' guestrooms, which continue the hotel's "cool Scandinavian feel" (The Daily Telegraph) and include free Wi-Fi, a TV and a mini bar. Higher-tariff rooms add balconies or terraces with sea views, while suites come with living rooms, Nespresso machines and iPads. There are also family rooms accommodating up to eight people.
