Overview

What started off as the private residence of cowboy artist Lon Megargee in the 1930s is today the hub of the intimate and luxurious Hermosa Inn. Explore the six acres of scenic desert landscape, including an outdoor pool, which comes in handy during sunny days in Arizona. The inn is was chosen by Conde Nast Traveler readers as a Top 12 Southwest Resort (2015).

It's located in beautiful Paradise Valley, a 20-minute drive from the center of Phoenix and 15 minutes from the shops and restaurants of Scottsdale.

For breakfast, dessert and everything in between, visit Lon’s restaurant, rated “extraordinary to perfection” by Zagat in the categories of food, décor and service. Each morning, order breakfast from an a la carte menu with selections including a build-your-own omelette and short rib hash. For hand-crafted cocktails head to Last Drop Bar which features a daily happy hour.

In the evenings, relax in a hacienda-style casita, which measure 400 square feet or more and provide Southwest décor and patios. All casitas feature walk-in showers and fireplaces, and some have vaulted ceilings with skylights.

Venture through the Valley of the Sun with deals from Travel + Leisure-praised spas and swanky dining experiences.

The newly-renovated rooms are beautiful and spacious and the beds are very nice!

The property is crawling with snakes -- we saw 3 during the day during our 2-night stay! Our friends even had a snake in their room!! Maintenance lost it and moved them to a different room, but it was still very unnerving to think of a snake being able to get inside the room. I understand that the property is in the desert, but I've lived in Arizona my whole life and have never seen that many snakes on a resort property. There is also a group of feral cats that have taken up residence on the property and they are NOT afraid of humans or dogs. We had our dog with us and he was almost attacked by one when we were walking him at night. The pool service was very slow (mind you, there weren't a lot of guests outside) and it would have been nice to have someone stop by more regularly. And the quality of the food at Lon's has taken a hit under the new management. It used to be one of the best restaurants in town and now the quality is missing, but the price is still very high.

This is an absoutely wonderful inn and restaurant, with first rate service, high quality appointments and thoughtful amenities throughout our stay. A fireplace, robes and Bose music player/radio were such nice features. The food at the restaurant was outstanding. And very tranquil: they were reportedly fully booked, but we felt like we were the only ones there.
    Other Comments
The only complaint I would have (and it's minor), is that the TV on our room was not situated for bed viewing.
