The Redbury New York
Why We Love This Hotel
- Less than a 10-minute walk from the Empire State Building, near the burgeoning Madison Square Park area
- Our members love the cozy and colorful rooms
- A laid-back neighborhood locals love; getting to top tourist sites will be a quick ride on the nearby subway
Charming and "ideally located for both business and leisure travelers" (U.S. News & World Report), the trendy Redbury New York is a sophisticated addition to a neighborhood that's vaulted up the chain in recent years when it comes to stylish lodgings.
Oyster.com believes the hotel's "greatest asset is its location," with the Empire State Building, Madison Square Park and foodie favorites such as Eataly and Grimaldi's within a 15-minute walk. Rooms have funky boutique furnishings and are on the smaller side but offer great value for money, especially considering the setting.
While not overrun with amenities, the hotel has a cool cocktail lounge in the lobby, complete with comfy lounge chairs surrounding intimate round tables. Danny Meyer's sought-after Union Square Hospitality Group is responsible for the top-rated Roman-inspired pizzeria, Marta, which warms the dining room with two roaring brick ovens (you'll want to secure a reservation ahead of time). The concierge can direct guests to other great dining nearby -- some run by the same restaurateur.
