Why We Love It

  • Through winter, the area gives way to snowshoeing, snowmobiling and more visible wildlife like moose and coyotes
  • In warmer weather, guests can go canoeing, trek the miles of shoreline trails or try out the resort's 18-hole championship golf course
  • The spa has an infrared sauna, a Vichy shower room and a pool

Map & Directions

Quaaout Lodge is just off the Trans-Canada Highway. The resort is halfway between Vancouver and Calgary, a 45-minute drive from Kamloops or a two-hour drive north from Kelowna International Airport. The drive from Seattle is five and a half hours.

For a more scenic route from Vancouver, take Highway 99, otherwise known as the Sea-to-Sky Highway, for dramatic ocean and mountain views. This route takes about two hours longer than the direct four-hour drive on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Overview

Quaaout Lodge & Spa at Talking Rock Golf Resort is a beachfront resort in the B.C. interior between the Rockies and the Pacific coast. Take in natural surroundings in any season and get a taste of local First Nations traditions and food.

On-site activities include bocce, canoeing and golf on the 18-hole championship course. Several First Nations interpretive areas, such as a traditional sweat lodge, are open for guests to learn more about the culture of the Little Shuswap territory. Jack Sam’s Restaurant & Lounge has views of Little Shuswap Lake and serves traditional dishes inspired by local flavors and ingredients like elk, bison and salmon.

Rooms are decorated in crisp neutrals and have a mini-fridge, coffee maker, 37-inch HDTV and bathrobes. Each deluxe room has a private balcony or patio looking out onto the lake and mountains. All guests enjoy access to the sand beach, the on-site fitness center, and an indoor pool and whirlpool. This hotel is pet-friendly.

Nearby attractions include the Treetop Flyers zipline and walking tours with the Adams River Salmon Society. The BC Wildlife Park, Cascades Casino and Secwepemc Museum are all 30-45 minutes away by car.

We enjoyed everything that we were involved in. Every part of this property met or exeded all of our expectations. Whether it was the pool & hot tub or a walk through the grounds it was first class. The food in the restaurant was more than delicious and the native cuisine made it truly special for us.

Peace and quiet. No dog no phone. Drank wine, read books, and watched movies. Vegged out. Food was great. Best, Ed

Everything! Relaxing! Room was comfortable. Balcony overlooking grounds and lake was a pleasant surprise. Room service was efficient. Best loaded omelette ever! Staff were all so nice, smiled, said good morning or hello, texted us to check if the room was good or asked if we needed anything.

Very pleasant, informative, helpful staff. beautiful location, great golf course. We checked in on National Aboriginal Day. The dedication and launching of the dugout canoe was very interesting.

it is a beautiful resort in a lovely setting. even the dog friendly room was gorgeous. a view of the lake from every room. loved everything about it. The pool and hot tub were perfect temperatures. We ended up arriving a day early and the front staff happily accommodated us.
Other Comments
only complaint is that both nights in the dining / lounge area we could hear the bartender having loud conversations with other staff and guests. is rather offputting and takes away from the ambience. lounge staff forgot about our meal the first night, and openly talked about us as if we could not hear them.
