The View Hotel is a modern property on Eastbourne's Grand Parade. The "3.5-mile sweeping, palm-tree-lined seafront" (Lonely Planet) is right on its doorstep, with Eastbourne Pier a 5-minute walk away.
The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the town centre -- home to the contemporary Towner Art Gallery and Victorian shopping streets of Little Chelsea. Eastbourne train station, a 15-minute walk from the hotel, is well connected for day trips into Brighton and Hastings, with regular direct services taking around 30-40 minutes.
The hotel is just outside the South Downs National Park, "rich in ancient woodland and rolling farmland" (The Guardian). The 100-mile South Downs Way -- one of England's oldest national trails, runs from Eastbourne to Winchester, or you can explore the National Trust's Cuckmere Valley by bike or on foot (15 minutes' drive from the hotel). Beachy Head -- a chalk headland within the South Downs which Lonely Planet calls a "spot of thrilling beauty" -- is less than 10 minutes' drive (or 50 minutes' walk) from the property.
The hotel restaurant offers panoramic sea views and the bar has an outdoor terrace that is open in fine weather.
All Standard King rooms have town views and 24-hour room service. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
