Hotel Omm is a "postmodern architectural stunner" (Fodor's), just off the Passeig de Gràcia in the centre of Barcelona. The interior décor of this minimalist design hotel brings to mind "Nordic Zen", says Condé Nast Traveler, with oriental lighting, rough stone walls and Mid-Century furniture.
The location is very central -- the hotel is on the corner of the Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona's high-end shopping street, and is a block from Gaudí's last work Casa Mila, more commonly known as La Pedrera (The Quarry). It is 10 minutes' walk from two other important Modernista buildings: Casa Batlló, described by Lonely Planet as "Gaudí at his hallucinatory best", and Casa Amatller, a Gothic-style townhouse designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch. The Museu Egipci, which showcases an "exceptional" (Rough Guides) collection of artefacts from ancient Egypt, is a 10-minute walk away. Diagonal Metro station is across the street from the hotel, and direct buses from the airport stop at the Plaça de Catalunya, less than 20 minutes' walk away.
Roca Moo, the hotel's fine-dining restaurant, holds a Michelin star and has a "very original" wine list (Michelin Guide). The restaurant is overseen by El Celler de Can Roca and head chef Rafa Panatieri conjours up inventive tasting menus for lunch and dinner (closed Sunday-Monday). You can also get drinks, tapas and snacks at Roca Bar in the lobby. The hotel also has a rooftop terrace (open in the summer months) with a swimming pool and a bar serving snacks, which can only be used by hotel guests during the day. The hotel's spa offers a range of pampering treatments (charges apply), as well as a complimentary indoor Jacuzzi and gym for hotel guests.
Rooms are modern and have views of the inner courtyard or the Passeig de Gràcia. Wi-Fi is free.
