Why We Love This Hotel

  • Hip hotel designed with inviting, cozy common spaces plus a rooftop bar
  • Located two blocks from the Empire State Building
  • Home to "Top Chef" contestant Dale Talde's first Manhattan restaurant, Massoni

Less than two years old, the Arlo NoMad is located in the trendy NoMad district, just two blocks from the Empire State Building.

Championing the micro-hotel concept, rooms are small but "with big personalities thanks to boho-chic decor and thoughtful amenities" (Condé Nast Traveler) like modular furniture, mini-fridges, an open-closet system with adjustable hanging pegs, rain showers, Blind Barber bath products, hand-held clothing steamers and automated window shades. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide rooms with plenty of natural light.

Guests are encouraged to check out the NoMad Bodega, a well-stocked 24-hour spot offering a great selection of eclectic local snacks, plus Joe coffee and a daily selection of pizzas and sandwiches. For something a little heartier, head to the on-site Massoni restaurant. "Top Chef" contestant Dale Talde serves up his "inauthentic Italian" concept with partners David Massoni and John Bush for their first Manhattan restaurant.

Don't miss the cozy second-floor library that shifts from a co-working space during the day to an evening hangout space with cocktails and small bites provided by the second floor Barlo. The seasonal rooftop bar, The Heights, serves inventive cocktails, along with uptown and downtown views.

Location & staff UNBEATABLE!! However, VERY small room, paid extra ($125 extra a night) for view and looked at construction on roof tops (Room 2710). Super slooooooow elevators. Great digital detox happy hour 5:30pm to 7:00pm every night. Super customer service!

Small hotel with a lot of warmth. Very friendly atmosphere in a big city.

They went out of their way to make us comfortable and welcomed. Every day they had a Happy Hour from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm in the comfortable lobby where you could get a glass of wine and snack and meet others staying at the hotel. They had a 24 hr. bodega (small items) a very nice restaurant, second floor lounge and rooftop bar. Staff were very efficient and friendly and looked after us very well.

The rooms are tiny and the air conditioner is loud. But the location can’t be beat and the staff is friendly and gave me a free upgrade. For the deal price, it was worth it.

I enjoyed the staff as well as the atmosphere. The style/decor of the hotel was pretty cool as well.
Other Comments
The only minor issue was the bar. I was solo, so sitting at a table waiting for service (15-20) was a little awkward.
