"Everything was easy and pleasant. Happy with the room, facilities and breakfast. We weren’t offered any of the Exclusive Extras which was a shame , as an upgrade would have been nice during the quiet season . - Although we did ask for and got given tickets to the Arboretum."

"If you’re after a spot of luxury, look no further than this chic Regency townhouse turned boutique hotel," says Lonely Planet. This Condé Nast Traveler-recommended hotel is nestled in the heart of the idyllic town of Chipping Campden, at the start of the Cotswolds Way National Trail.

The Regency townhouse, which sits among acres of well-kept gardens, combines history and character with contemporary touches. Elle magazine says it's the "best place to stay in the village," and Harper's Bazaar calls it a "dream designer pad."

The spa is a real highlight, set in a converted coach house in the hotel grounds. Guests get free access to the facilities, including six treatment rooms, an aromatic steam room, a hydrotherapy pool and a nail bar.

The bedrooms all feature free Wi-Fi, Bang & Olufsen entertainment centers, tea- and coffee-making facilities, solid antique dressing tables, and fluffy bathrobes. Most have views of the pretty gardens or overlooking the village’s historic high street. Upgrade to a Cottage Room for more space. These are separate to the main house, located in the gardens.

The Cotswold Grill restaurant is open every day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. The menu features locally sourced produce, with classics such as ham hock, Gressingham duck and apple pie. In warmer weather, the Pavilion Terrace in the hotel garden is a pleasant place to enjoy a coffee or lunch.

We decided to have a little trip to the Cotswolds before I fly away to Saudi Arabia on a Business Trip. Jamie the chap on reception was extremely helpful and catered to all our needs. Every request we had was courteously fulfilled, a true professional. N

There were several mistakes which we had to point out to staff. Complimentary items were missing on arrivcal (biscuits, water), the pool was unusable and during dinner, the waitress knocked over our bottle of red wine which went all over my shoes. They did replace the spilt wine with two glasses but I have noticed that they charged us for these! The following morning our breakfast in bed order was delivered 40 minutes late and then arrived missing items. I did speak to the manager who offered to remove the orginal bottle of wine from the bill (but not the replacement glasses) and the credited the value of two breakfasts back to us. However, I have still been charged £15.75 for two glasses of wine which were offered to me as complimentary and did not receive my £20 voucher for the spa treatment which I booked. Could you please arrange for £35.75 to be credited to me?
