A winding, tree-lined lane leads down to the homely Brace of Pheasants, a quaint pub with rooms set amidst the rolling Dorset countryside. This classic thatched property is perfectly placed for rural walks and rambles, but it's near sightseeing attractions too with 15th-century Athelhampton House and Gardens and the Terracotta Warriors Museum both within a 20-minute drive. The lively coastal town of Bournemouth is an hour's drive from the inn.
There's a snug, wood-beamed bar area with dark wood furnishings and a brick fireplace, and guests can sample real ale and a varied wine list, as well as dine on hearty fare made from locally sourced ingredients.
The eight cosy guestrooms are decorated in a casual style with neutral tones. All the rooms have free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, as well as ensuite bathrooms, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Some rooms have outside space with tables and chairs, while rooms above the pub feature exposed beams and window seats. Breakfast is complimentary.
